All those willing to contribute tracks for the fund raising CD, please post your interest here. We need finished tracks on Friday.

If you know how to use FTP, I will be setting up an FTP server tomorrow for you to upload your wav/aif files. Otherwise, please contact Glenn (BreaksRBest) to organise getting him your track on CD.

Edit:
Finished tracks only please. And, make sure you've got clearance on all your samples.

Awesome idea. Here is a remix i did of a friends hip hop instrumental. All melbourne productions, i'm sure some of you have heard if before.

Here is a low quality clip : 10000 Shadows - Untitled (Shadowgames Remix)

If you are interested i'll upload a mastered version 8)

EDIT: sample clearance could be an issue :? still interested though.

i can come up a cd sticker, if you want. i'll mock one up now.

it should prolly have a tracklist on it, since there's not going to be a cover, yes?

Posted: Thu Jan 06, 2005 2:48 pm
by Shadowgames
so what is the tracklist :?:

Posted: Thu Jan 06, 2005 3:11 pm
by breaksRbest
we might have to just put the tracklist on a small piece of paper and put it with the CD

haven't chosen the tracks yet

too easy mate.

I'm doin' bugger all on the weekend (except sorting this disc) so am free to meet up and grab CD's off anyone.

by witty_pseudonym
as far as the art on the disc goes maybe just keep it simple with the same band aid used on the flyers?
track list would be good...but the band aid might look effective in it's simplicity?

just a thought...back to lurking

should probably wait until we have a final version of it all... but, we could prolly fit it all in like so:

Posted: Thu Jan 06, 2005 6:07 pm

Correct, there's no "au" in the Melbourne Beats URL.

Anyone that needs to FTP tunes to me...

Hostname: motro.dynalias.org
Username: beataid
Password: beataid

Put your tune inside the folder called "beats". This folder is a drop box, so once your tune is uploaded you won't actually be able to see it there. This is to prevent other people from downloading your tune from my server.

I'm nicking off now. I'll be back later, so if you have any problems PM me.

If you don't know how to FTP stuff, then it's probably best that we get a CD off you somehow. Contact Glenn (BreaksRBest) if you wish to do this.

:?:

Posted: Thu Jan 06, 2005 6:18 pm
by lynt
im assuming

mp3s @ 320kbps ...

or uncompressed WAV

Posted: Thu Jan 06, 2005 6:21 pm
by valuetime
aiff or wav i rection. maybe a 320kbps mp3 if you can't ftp 60 odd Mb. or give him a cd on the wknd.

i can't access the ftp server, so i might have to drop in a cd.

also, when it's been compiled, someone hit me up with a tracklist and i can do the artwork for the disc. what's the deadline for replication and printing? anyone?

Posted: Thu Jan 06, 2005 6:41 pm
by breaksRbest
I still don't have a CD duplication company that will donate the CD's so I don't know the deadline as yet.

I haven't given up though

Glenn - As MC Wasp ain't playing, do you still want his tune? He has agreed to make "Here For Da" available - a little vocally driven drum n bass number. Very wicked. Let me know and I'll give ya a call to drop it off.

Sorry guys. I tested the FTP server, it was working when I left last night. But I had to go play records so I wasn't here to answer your questions. =(

I have the day off today. I'm able to cruise around and pick up CD's off people as long as you don't live too far away.

If worst comes to worst, I can do some CD burning at my work. Got 3 machines in there with burners. Happy to pull a couple of late ones to make it happen.

fenton might also be able to make this happen. it may cost 50c per cd or something tho

Posted: Fri Jan 07, 2005 10:26 am
by valuetime
how many cd's are we looking at here?

Posted: Fri Jan 07, 2005 10:27 am
by lucas
I think Glenn was talking somewhere around the 500 mark.

I'm not sure CD duplication companies would do less than that?

Posted: Fri Jan 07, 2005 10:38 am
by valuetime
surely everyone who puts in a track could split the cost...

if we get, say, 10 tracks and it costs $0.50 a unit, that's $25 each.

Posted: Fri Jan 07, 2005 10:40 am
by lucas
I'm down with that.

The FTP seems to be all good now, so i'm uploading a track now (wav, 16bit/44.1khz).

Joe Louis and Shadowgames - Structure in motion

Hope that is alright, if it dosent fit the vibe, or you dont like it, its all good 8)

oh yeah, i'm also down with chipping in some cash for the cd if need be, let me know

Posted: Fri Jan 07, 2005 11:34 am
by breaksRbest
If I can get a company to donate them we'll get a minimum of 500

If we have to do them ourselves I think 200 would be sufficient, we can always take orders for more

Posted: Fri Jan 07, 2005 1:18 pm
by Shadowgames
Ok the track is uploaded now. Let me know what you think 8)

I need to take the ftp server offline for an hour or so.

Looks like no one's uploading anything at the moment, so now's a good time to do it.

Will post here when it's back up.

BRB, I'll call you a bit later to have a chat about the CD.
