the BIG hamper - contributions needed

On Jan 14, 2005 the Melbourne Beats crew along with some 700+ people raised around $17,000 for the Asia Quake & Tsunami appeal. This forum is an archive of the organisational discussion for the event.

the BIG hamper - contributions needed

Post by eskay »

We're going to hold a raffle on the night for a hamper full of goodies - signed CDs, event tickets, clothes, basically anything of value (ie not your old socks :P) that anyone can donate...

If you can help please send a PM to myself or Friday and let us know..

Cheers

I can donate heaps of 'free' and 'rent one get one free' vouchers that can be used at any blockbuster store. I have about 50 that I can donate if that helps?? I'm sure I could arrange to get some free copies of 'scratch' and other music dvs's to put in as well??

I will donate a $100 Melbourne Central gift voucher for the hamper. Apologies for taking so long to get on board with this, I am on annual leave at the moment.

If I can lend a hand with anything on the marketing/advertising/pr tip call or message me on 0401 146 765.

Let's make sure we generate some positive PR from this to offset the generally negative coverage of the dance music community in the mainstream media.

I am truly humbled by the generosity and compassion of the MB community - fantastic work everyone!!!

If anyone can come up with a funky name for this instead of just "raffle" (reminds me of a 1980's trivia night!) then please post it up! thanks!

this is outta control.

I reckon $5 is a good price. Once peeps have paid to get in and bought a CD they've already spent $30. I know it's a wicked prize, but ya still gotta make it affordable.

SQ, aren't you coming?? :(

i reckon $5 a ticket.

i have a bunch of raffle tickets that we normallly use for AMAD cloakroom that we can use for it...

sq i checked my facts again and it was as i suspected... prize under $5k needs no permits / printing in paper etc.

if we just sell tickets on the night and draw it at the end it should be cool... or perhaps it should be drawn the following week? and result posted on beataid website?

probably should make sure that the cloak room tickets aren't the same as the raffle tix- or we could end up with a little problem!

you only need to have a licence of any kind for a raffle if the prize is over $5000 i believe from experience. (or was that $500)

I have a Top Flite Golf Bag & some golf clubs to donate.

I know it's not music related, but everything helps I guess.

I was going to give to BRB to take to the appropriate person if that's cool
