M-Audio - Axiom 25 - Midi nightmare

Post by Robot Rod »

I am trying to use my new M-AUDIO midi keyboard ( axiom 25 ) with SONAR POWER STUDIO 660 and its farked.
I had it playing notes but no transport controls, BUT now it does nothing.
I must have hit one or two of the buttons on the axiom and changed the settings, now i cant get it back...aggghhh

Hmmm .. nice and vague there Rod.

First things first;
To get basic note-playing.
Are you connecting it via the MIDI ports (OUT from the device, IN on your soundcard > check this... the check it again) or are you doing it through USB?

Check which MIDI-Out channel you have selected on the Axiom. Make sure that your audio-prog MIDI-In is set to receive that MIDI channel.

If you have another audio prog which you can test the gear on, that could also be useful.

As for transport controls, you might need some mapping/remote set-up files.
Look for something like; "Axiom ### Map/Remote files" for your software. M-Audio site should have them.

What MIDI-learn capabilities does your audio-prog have?

Without more info... I don't know how useful we can be to you.
Cheers

i use an app called midi monitor when I have midi issues
you can use it to see all incoming and outgoing midi messages
and it helps track down issues
