More Computer Issues!!!

Hey guys and girls,

I have a GA-P35-DS3P Motherboard with 4 Gig of ram in it. However it wont boot up. Starts to load and then it just resets itself.

I have been able to boot up if i take 2 gig of ram out but whats the point if i cant use it all...

I'm also thinking of getting a new GFX card for gaming. Atm i have Geforce 8600GT.

Any help would be great.

I've checked online but so far no luck as i don't really know what i am looking for.

does it matter which ram stick you take out? one might be shot

I should try that.

The shit thing is they all used to work.

Will try swapping the sticks around when i get home.

Touch wood it is only a busted stick

That was easy...

I just reset my bios to defaults and it all works.

that's interesting. had you been fucking with the voltages at all? (i doubt it tho lol)

one of your sticks could well be on its way out.

did it make any beeps at any stage?

I think I might have killed it. The compute won't even turn on now. The power supply was quite old and smells pretty funky now.

Time to get a new power supply too
