Interchanging ortofon styli>?

Post by Retty Rets »

Got a pair of Ortofon electro concorde carts but dont like the sound! Thinking of getting a pair of Q Bert stylus' and just sliding them on, has anyone on here tried that? How does it affect the sound and would you reccomend doing this??
Any advice would be much appreciated.. Ryan

I was under the impression all the bodies were the same, just the heads are different.

I def. interchange mine with no audible problems.

Well the q bert is supposed to be more like the shure m447's with the really high output and the accentuated bass, but I'm really not sure, maybe not.

"accentuated bass" - hmmm...

Personally I'd rather an accurate representation, you can always EQ after the fact if needed, be it on a PA, monitors or in editing.
