Throat singers required - Tuvan Khoomei Kargyraa & Tibetan

Hi, I've been hunting for fellow Tuvan throat singers for a long time now, being absorbed in the music since hearing Tibetan throat singing first in the late 90s, then watching Genghis Blues and being exposed to the amazing works of Tanu Tuvan Khoomei. I found my style from originally practicing death and grind metal screams in the late 90s. Now after singing in this style for over a decade and having a recording setup organised, I am more than ever anxious to find other people to collaborate or ensemble with.

Also interested in other vocal experimenters, such as improv/manipulated vocal noise, beat boxing, eskimo throat singing etc. However I am mainly focused on Tuvan-based Kargyraa (the deepest/most bassy throat singing) with aims to eventually either bring some Tuvans here to Australia (such as the legendary Huun-Huur-Tu) as well as travelling at some stage for one of the Tuvan International Symposiums held irregularly.

I know there are throat singers out there.. please contact me! Even if not in Melbourne, we can collaborate over the internet.

If know of anyone into Tuvan or Tibetan style, please contact me via pm here or preferably via email at coreanti [at] h0tmail [dot] c0m

I am interested in any and all uses of throat singing and have a huge and eclectic taste in musics, so please contact me regardless of your ambitions and primary genres of interest - throat singing can and will make ANY style better, imo!

Ghengis Blues is an awesome doco... saw it when I was back at uni. I gave this style a crack, but this was 8 years back.. dun think I could do it now. Bigups for this, interested in what you end up doing.

Thanks bro, yah I was stunned to see the doco and so happy to find the music.. because Tibetan wasn't enough for me and I'm definitely not into the Inuit style. I think anyone can do it at any age, but it is easier depending on your scale/register (lower the note the easier to get resonance). I'll be posting around a bunch of different forums and looking for free classifieds where-ever I can to try and get some others for this project.. I don't want to layer my own voice too much, there is real inspiration to be found in collaboration and improvisation for this music.

Just a taste of some famous Tuvans:
