Re: Fostex or KRK monitors
there used to be a monitor thread knocking about.
AC23 uses Truth I think.
Best advice is to listen mate. When I was buying my monitors, it was KRKs on paper for sure - reviews, popularity, forums. Choice seemed pretty easy. When I finally went in to listen to them, I did not like the sound of them at all.

Re: Fostex or KRK monitors
I've used both KRK and Truth at home (both in a studio capacity and a general listening capacity)... I far prefer the Truth speakers.
KRKs have heaps of volume, heaps of weight to the sound... but imo they are too bassy, and potentially muddy. Now, I love bass as much at the next person on here, but these things are so bassy that in order to get a clear sound you have to reduce the bass when you are mixing-down etc. Therefore your tunes actually sound less bassy when you put them on a decent sized system. Mind you, the KRKs I was using were also WAY too over powered and large for the room I have. I guess some smaller ones might be OK?? dunno.
Truth are simple, clear, and cheap. I'm not generally a fan of Behringer gear in general, but I'm super happy with these.. so much so that I bought a second pair for the lounge room.

KRK are the best speaker you will get in that price range IMO.

I use Truths at home, although its mainly a DJ mixing set-up, I've always found em to be rad.
He's climbing in your windows, he's snatching your people up.
