Melbourne Beats Monthly Mixes

Post by DBoy » Thu Jul 27, 2006 1:40 pm

In September 2005 the moderators of Melbourne Beats (MB.C) decided that there was so much talent of such a diverse nature on MB.C that it would be a shame not to showcase it in one way or another. Lynt posted the following thread asking for nominations and ideas for the concept...
viewtopic.php?t=3259&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=monthly+mix
From there the community has not looked back, with the monthly mix becoming a highly anticipated and well loved event. Each month has displeyed the talents of one of the nominated artists, and the range of styles displayed is evidence enough that MB.C is a hive of talent, diversity and pure unadulterated love for the beat...

enjoy...

Is there any way we can get set lists for each mix. Listening to the Fickuss rinse and want to know a few tracks. I could always PM, but maybe an attached page/tracklist for each mix. Just thinking outloud and if it's too much of a hassle, no worries. All love from me...

I think it's about time melbournebeats.com got its own Monthly Mixathon podcast.

Why don't we set up an RSS feed with each month's mix and submit it to the iTunes podcast library? At the moment, people have to go fishing through threads to find the archives, and this thead isn't being updated any more.

I've hosted mine here, permanent download link:

http://michael.4bitterguys.com/Music/Mi ... muffin.mp3

---

01. Mowgli - Mowgli Comes To Town [MantraBreaks]
02. Mark Mendes - Wam Bam [Mar186]
03. Hoxton Whores - Friday Saturday Love (Instrumental Mix) [Hoxton Whores]
04. D Ramirez - La Discotek [Underwater]
05. Hook n Sling & Kid Kenobi - The Bump [Cr2]
06. BSOD - A Bit Sketchy [Play]
07. Bump - I'm Rushin (Dave Spoon Dub Mix) [Art & Craft]
08. Sebastien Leger - Fat Bug [Pickadoll]

11. Dj Naga - Die Rhythmen Ein (Flack.Su Remix) [Chi]
12. Sarah McLeod - He Doesn't Love You (Hook n Sling Dub Mix) [Renaissance]

---

So when's this permanent archive being set up??? :) Come on, someone take responsibility! There's some wicked mixes that have been put together on here, it's a real shame to see them get lost into the sands of time.

Is there an issue with storage or bandwidth?

we had someone confirmed for oct who never came back with the mix. nov i was just rubbish and failed to sort it out in time. we were meant to get ahead so this couldn't happen, but never got to that stage. mea culpa. will try to get back on top of it now i'm back.
