they're terrible this year. nobody seems to know where the story comes from (though i assume its from a childrens book of some description), and the display itself is quite frightening... for some.

I grew up in Tassie..... yeah, there are a lot of poppy fields. Every now and then you'd hear of someone trying to steal some or whatever. Then there was the case of one loon who stole some poppys, tried to make heroin, fucked it up and died as a result.... what a dickhead.
I quite a few corporate gigs for "Tasmanian Alkaloids" (the complany that farms opium) functions. They used to give away a merc to their employee of the year a their xmas do. MADDNESS

In the same spirit, come on down to science works/ planetarium. We are acutally open and I am here all day today and most of the day tomorrow. 2 or 3 planetarium shows still set for this afternoon. Good times.
