I have a luna II.
I cant use it now
creamware are not supporting OSX
and my new G5 has PCIX cars, not PCI. and even the PCI models use a different voltage spec, so the card doesn't work.
bummer. I really liked that card too... have a lot of extra plugs for it.
after that experience I went and got a firewire external (m-audio audiophile). less built in redundancy.
creamware is good though - great plugs/dsp and sound quality.

Yeah that does suck........
I will be running both platforms soon so i don't need to worry about that problem but the creamware range is def the way to go if you need FAT sounds.

it made me wonder though - how much life is left in pci? and particularly if creamware demmand a certian voltage specification, is there a expiry on this technology coming our way?
Im not a computer geek so I dont know - im sure someone has forcast this sort of thing. it does make me wonder though.

PCIe (or PCI Express) is the latest version of PCI cards to hit the market. (even though the specification is over 4 years old.)
I'd say PCI cards will be with us for a while yet, mainly because of backwards compatibility. it'd be great to move to Infiniband technology though.
there's a good article on PCI at ARS Technica, if you want to get hella geeklicious about it.
