Every channel has a 2 to 3 hour "call us now you might win $50" kind of show after about 11:30. Each channel has some kinda hot chick in a bikini hosting or some metro twat with lip stick on. Fucking terrible. The one on 9 is called quiz master or some shit.

i don't think they do it for revenue - i think they do it to satisfy local content obligations the commercial networks need to satisfy.

There was a sketch type comedy show on last night about 12 on 7 (I think) called "Big Bite" or some such. It was tres funny, pity it only went for 15 mins.

I watched all of The Wedge last week while I was visiting a friend.

I'm still having Nam-style flashbacks as a result of this highly traumatic event; I wake up the neighbours when I scream in my sleep. The doctor has prescribed Valium and a good psychologist to talk through what he describes as Post-Wedgeviewing-Stress-Disorder.

But I don't know. Sometimes I think I can cope on my own. Then I realise;

I watched the wedge.

I was the only one in the room at the time.

I keep on thinking "if only I'd just picked up the remote". My doctor tells me not to dwell on 'what-ifs'.

Time for some more Valium.

sometimes if you work till early hours of the morning you get home and still have juice to burn, but not enough to warrant getting up and switching on the computer

We actually didn't even turn our tv on our last night. It was a completely refreshing change of habit to go out and socialise instead of being a couch potato.

Stick to ABC or SBS. Better shows generally, though too much current affairs is getting me down lately! War war war :S

It all comes down to $$$.

These shows are cheap to produce. Probably no Actors to pay, smaller crew on set, and no script to have to write and develop as in making a drama series.

And if you keep watching it, they'll keep dishing it up.

yeah true, on all accounts..

although I kinda would prefer to watch abc current affairs than the tripe on the other tripeworks.. what with their "too fat? Eat these products!!"
"we show how to get your dollar further at (insert shopping type place here)"

etc etc..

well ok.. I would probably prefer it if there was no wars to report.. and the ABC / sbs current affairs programs had to report things like where the prime minister had been for lunch because there was nothing badly to report..
although im sure there would be something better than tripe..
