So funny that Ali G failed so terribly in the States, but this is no.1 movie there now. Wonder if yanks even know it is same person.

I'm worried...

Ali G the movie was nothing on the series. And this movie is just on Borat, whom I find very funny - but I don't want his character ruined for me!

Supposed to be very good from what I hear though, here's hoping!

I read in MX yesterday that Sacha Baron Cohen defended the movie by saying that in the Kazahk village Borat is supposedly from, they celebrated its release and gave children the day off work.

Also that it knocked King Kong (1932) off the number one film spot.

dont think i would have travelled to go to the opening, but we live close, so we thought why not. He is one excitable fuker, he loves that attention to the point it looks like he can not control himself.

This movie is very funny

Not.

:jokes:

Was the best comedy I have seen all year.
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

Finally caught this movie last night, it was by far the funniest movie I have seen this year and by far one of the most intelligent comedies in a long time.

LOL, finally saw this last night as well. It was insanely funny and very controversial.

I seriously cannot believe how far Sacha went with some of the scenes. It was too good to be true!

Me and my mate noticed a couple grannies sat in front of us and then decided to leave 3/4 of the way into the movie. But you gotta know what this movies intended audience was. :)

i saw it in NYC and it was absolute pandemonium ... the crowd was absolutely losing it and laughing out of control ... and this theatre was massive, easily 2000 ppl if not more.

All over US media they are going crazy for Sasha Baron Cohen .. and the Ali G DVDs ARE already all over Virgin Megastore and Tower ... he is the biggest thing ever! I think Ali G will do a lot better now.

We went and saw it today, was very funny!

I was expecting the old people in front of us to get up and leave but they stayed to the end. Some young kids walked out complaining half way thru though!

How much of it do people think was real and how much wasn't? I have a suspiscion lots was staged.

Not that I care but it's very interesting.

Also were the "sueings" real? It would be a very good way to create PR. Have locals you used in the film sue you.

i think the legal action (well, threats to take out legal action) were real as Paramount are now concerned the new movie he's doing will attract the same problems.

I think the prossie is fake, Pam Anderson is fake (zing) and the wrestling end scene in the function centre is fake. I also think it's funny as shit and hope my housemate is downloading it!!!

Evangalist scene?

"Live TV" feed?

Pretty funny he got Pammy to agree after he rocked up at her wedding riding a giant turtle with a keyboard guitar and was tackled and removed.
