Ennio Morricone at Off Beat
I'm getting big on Ennio Morricone lately. For 15 years I've been familiar with his uplifting masterpiece, Ecstasy of Gold, which has opened every single Metallica concert for the past 20 years. There is nothing like it in the history of music.
Morricone is known for crafting the soundtracks to The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, as well as The Untouchables, Lolita, and nearly a hundred more.
At the next Off Beat, I'm dropping this absolutely amazing, haunting, powerful 2 minute piece called Deus Irae Psychadelico. He has dozens of excellent operatic and off beat pieces.
Check him out. www.enniomorricone.com

Snoop Doggy Dogg added to Off Beat lineup!
After his recent show at Good Vibrations, the Doggfather returns to Australia to act the part of pimp in the new urban crime drama "Mah Bitch Betta Have Mah Money" by acclaimed film director Geoffrey Wright.
We've managed to coax Snoop away from the set for the evening of April 1st, to give us a taste of his other musical side projects.
Despite his fame as a hip hop artist, few know of Snoop's work with such luminaries as the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and punk rockers They Might Be Vaginas, or his recitals of electronic works by Percy Grainger.
When asked how he thinks his Off Beat performance will be received, Snoop replied "For shizzle, yo. I'm a bust it like these nuts."

my mate does a great interpretive dance, of the life of an oak tree, from acorn to table.
We requested he re-run the breathtaking display as we waited for his bride to be to show up at the altar on saturday and he pretended not to hear us.
I hope that the dancers produce quality of similair nature, such that one is reduced to tears.
Sounds good as always, will try to make it down.

I'm not denying where I live for a second, but there's no chance of me turning up and doing any 'interpretive dancing'!

Jeff Buckley added to Off Beat lineup!
Despite being presumed dead for the last nine years, Jeff Buckley was recently found to be alive and living quietly in the regional Australian town of Yass, instantly ending speculation as to why no one had heard from him all this time.
"It's a nice enough place," he said, "but not much going on. I mean, the chicks love it when I sing 'Black Beauty' to them in the car or wherever, but then you meet their families. All of a sudden, spawning doesn't seem like such a good idea anymore."
We saw fit to invite Jeff to play Off Beat this April 1st, as a way of providing him a modest return to the musical stage.
"Sure," he said. "Will there be much pussy?"

Speaking of monkeys, we have signed former footballing legend and admitted cheat Diego Maradona to speak out at Off Beat. He is expected to provide a positive message on the perils of drug & alcohol abuse, as well as how to sneak a fast one past any type of goal.
"You Australians don't know shit about cocaine," it says in his press release. "I will show you some things," he continues, before winking. "But only if you show me some things too."
