Marcus Intalex and Doc Scott at Miss Libertine 20th July
Elementz is very proud to present two of the most innovative and respected figures in Drum and Bass. Marcus Intalex and Doc Scott are both legends in their own right who share a passion for forward thinking, high quality dance music and will be reaching Melbourne together for the first time on July 20th at Miss Libertine.
Doc Scott the ‘King of the rollers’ is a true pioneer of the sound that we now call drum and bass. He Co-Founded Metalheadz and owns 31 Records which amongst many other influential moments launched the career’s of Australia’s very own Pendulum. In addition, he has released such legendary tunes as ‘Shadowboxing’, ‘NHS’ and ‘Here Come the Drumz’. After a break from touring, Doc Scott is set to return with a renewed sense of purpose and a bag full of big beats.
Doc Scott is not only known for his sharp mixing abilities, since his uniquely distinct programming skills also rate high on the list. In fact it wouldn't be an understatement to simply describe Scott as one of the best DJs on the scene. “Mixing to me is controlling the tempo, controlling the vibe and responding to what's around you. It's all about peaks and troughs and making me best out of people's recordsâ€.
2007 see's the rebirth, as it we're, of Doc Scott's 31 Records. Kicking things off in a big way will be his first solo EP in some years "The End Of The Beginning" EP followed by singles from Lynx, Mixmaster Doc, Dj Vapour & many more promising new school producer's.
Make no mistake, this year we’ll see Doc’s evolution into the future. To hear him mix it’s only obvious why he’s maintained his position in the d’n’b world for so many years : because he rolls it out like no other.
Marcus Intalex represents the forefront of musical drum and bass. From the seminal ‘How you make me feel’ to this years ‘Eleventh Hour LP’ his productions are renowned for pushing boundries whilst retaining broad appeal. His DJ sets follow suit and his versatile style, combined with excellent mixing skills make Marcus one of the most in demand DJ’s in the world and his reputation for breaking new quality music without compromising the dancefloor only continues to grow.
In terms of Muscical output, his Label Soul:R has grown to be one of the most respected in the scene and reflects Marcus’ own strong personal ethics, releasing innovative drum and bass with musical integrity.
For 2007, Soul:r continues to drive forward with singles planned from Lynx (‘Global Enemies’ b/w ‘Break the Mod’) and Break (‘Mr Crystal’ b/w ‘Come and Get It’) as well as remixes on Revolve:r from techno legends John Tejada and Nomadico from Underground Resistance.
Marcus has continued to push the envelope and married Detroit techno influences with drum and bass in a way that expresses his own unique style. Marcus also plays sets other than drum and bass that explore these influences, fusing together deep house, techno and soulful broken beat rhythms.
Also, Due out on 20 August this year is the next installment in the Fabric Live CD series, brought to you by none other than the man himself. With the freshest drum and bass selection around, this looks set to be one of the best yet in this highly acclaimed series.
A killer international line-up like this deserves the finest local DJ’s in attendace. Joe Seven, Dust and JPS will be holding their own in the main room while the front bar will be hosted by Patchwork DJ's; Blair Stafford & Ennio Styles.
Door sales are $25 before 11 / $35 after.

FABRICLIVE CD 35: Marcus Intalex
Marcus Intalex, king of the more soulful and innovative side of drum & bass, is a veteran who has survived a lot: the initial revolution of d&b (and dance music, for that matter); the building of a close-net scene in Manchester with his mates L Double and ST Files; the development of an incredible and staggering back catalogue of hugely celebrated tunes, mixes and d & b classics; the creation of Soul:r, the label that receives praise and appreciation across all scenes; the growth of his distinguished DJing schedule... the list is immeasurable.
Now he steps up and produces a seductive mix laden with deep, hypnotic grooves and sweeping melodies for the prestigious FABRICLIVE CD series. FABRICLIVE 35 is a picturesque showcase of his label’s stunning productions, including a few of Intalex’s own, and embraces some of his most respected collaborators and like-minded peers. With alluring, emotive grooves from Calibre, the rhythmic Breakage touch, Lynx’s ravishing low-slung sub bass, and the fresh soul of Alix Perez, Intalex proves that drum‘n’bass is a unique, multifarious, future-thinking scene with as much strength and deliverance as any. Continually shifting and changing shape with a sharp sense of style, the 19 tracks explore the vast world of d&b, from the mellifluous and smooth to the techy and precise to the warm and soulful.

We stop serving food around 8 or 9pm on club nights. It all depends on how busy we are and how much set up is needed for gigLauer wrote:Don't think it will sell out, but i do think it will be fairly filled.dart wrote:what's the venue like? is it likely to sell out?
