Mac OS X 10.4.10: No sound from some FireWire audio interfac

Issue or symptom

After updating to Mac OS X 10.4.10, some FireWire audio interfaces may have no sound output.

Solution

To resolve this issue, install the FireWire SDK 24 for Mac OS X from the Development Kits page.

Note: This download requires an Apple Developers Connection (ADC) account. If you are not an ADC member, you can create an account at no charge.

im about to chuck 10.5
looking forward to the update, bit scared about my apps though

10.5 is meant to have lots of core audio updates inlcuding better usb2 support for audio devices

seems a bit glitchy, maybe something needs tweaking

i've had no issues with firebox on 10.4.10 yet
