Channel Strip _

Post by wakcrewslickmyballs »

I'm looking for a rack-mountable channel strip with minimum 4-8 stereo line inputs; each with level control, panning, muting and phase reverse (optional).
A Clean/Quite master output is a must. Mic inputs aren't a necessity at the moment. I was pretty keen on grabbing the Dangerous Music MIXER until i realized they're going for around $4000!! Can anyone recommend something that wont leave me in debt?

Cheers

So you're after a rack-mountable mixer? Or channel strip?

sounds like a passive mixer would do.

what's the application?

The application is studio. I already own a silly 8 channel un-powered Behringer mixer - with the option to chuck on a rack. I was looking at updating to a Mackie, Soundcraft, or Allen and heath mixer but in reality im only using at the most up to 4 inputs. So yes, Im looking for a rack channel strip.

Cool

a channel strip is a single channel with a pre, EQ and a compressor usually.
Sometimes a HPF a de-essor ect.

sounds like you are looking for a mixer.

Dangerous are soo expensive because people dont use them as mixers exactly

they are analog summing mixers...

they are used to take all your signals or at least some (usually as many as one can afford) outside the box, into the wonderful realms of the analog world and back again, or to be summed in the box

however i dare say once you add the analog juices you will / may require more eq again
