I'm gonna run down and pick up the Orange Box tomorrow.

Having a frustrating issue with Crysis where the game crashes every 5-10 minutes. I've patched updated and basically stripped my system dry of anything unneeded to run the game.

A really good article following a halo 2 team.

"We have groupies," says pro gamer Ben.

"There's a lot of girls around," adds pro gamer Tom "Tsquared" Taylor. "I honestly find them annoying. Because I'm not here to talk to you. I'm here to play 'Halo.' I'm not going to give you a hug. I'm going to my station to play."

"I give them hugs," Jackson interjects. "I'm not going to lie."
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

you give them hugs?! hugs!!!

Went out this arvo and bought World in Conflict. Excellent game.

Alternate history WWIII scenario in which the Soviet Union invades US soil via Seattle.

Needs heaps of strategic thinking, looks good and runs nicely on my rig.

finally picked up zelda: the phantom hourglass for the ds. (along with a good little storage upgrade, hehe.)

whoever the got to do the artwork has done an inspired job. the interface and control system (i.e. use of the stylus) is really well thought out.

good for the 5 minute break crew!

For Hardy, remake of Bionic Commando featuring...
Taking its inspiration from its 8-bit namesake released on the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1988, Bionic Commando features Nathan Spencer (voiced by former lead singer of Faith No More, Mike Patton), a government operative who represents the ultimate fusion of man and machine. After distinguishing himself in a fierce conflict against the Imperials, Spencer is betrayed and falsely imprisoned by the very people he unquestioningly served.

The GDAA Seeks Out AU Senator
The 40% rebate demand for developers continues.

by Patrick Kolan, IGN AU

Australia, October 16, 2007 - The Game Developers' Association of Australia (GDAA) has continued to push forward with its demands for the 40% rebate for local developers, after a couple of knockbacks at other levels of government.

Today it was announced that the GDAA and a number of CEOs from Australia's major game development companies will meet with Senator Stephen Conroy, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, on Monday 22 October to provide the Senator with insight into the association's call for a 40% rebate for the games industry in Australia.

CEO of the Game Developers' Association of Australia (GDAA) Greg Bondar commented, "We are extremely pleased to see that Senator Conroy is prepared to take the time to listen to us, to find out more about our concerns regarding the state of the industry and learn more about our vibrant and productive industry."

"Not only will we be able to talk about what our industry is doing and explain how significant a 40% rebate would be for the future of our industry, we will also be able to demonstrate to the Senator, first hand, the capabilities that our Australian game developers have to produce world class products."

"When you consider the fact that a game like Halo 3 made over $300 million US in the first week since its launch and over $170 million of that was made in the first day of trading, you can see the potential that our industry has to make significant economic contributions," he added.

Senator Conroy will meet with Gregory Bondar, CEO of the GDAA, Tom Crago, GDAA President and CEO of Tantalus Interactive, Chris Moseley, GDAA Treasurer and CEO of Redtribe and a number of other CEOs including Mike Fegan of IRGurus.

Mr Bondar went on to say, "With the government's support by way of the same sort of rebate that they have extended to our film industry, we know that we will be able to compete on the world stage, attract work to our shores and in turn, positively influence the level of skills and employment within our industry in Australia.

"The absence of the same sort of rebate that other countries like Canada, Germany, the UK and China are able to offer to attract business is what is holding us back from a positive future. With a 40% rebate, the sky's the limit for our industry here in Australia," he concluded.

woot! I bought speedball 2 on xbox live arcade and it's teh rad!

Ah memories..

Hey charlie, apparently in fifa 2008 you can play as one player at a time.
Like a first person mode. Apparently the developers are heading towards a version where each player is played by a different person online.
Which would be crazy!
