Alex Metric (UK) & School Of Thought (UK) Easter Sunday!

Post by Lister Cooray »

The Last Sunday pres. Easter Sunday @ la di da - 23/3/08

After smashing up the decks in January with Tayo & Dj Three and following on with Koma & Bones in February, The Last Sunday crew has stepped it up again and will be bringing you a massive International lineup for Easter Sunday!

Joining us for Easter this year will be no other than Alex Metric (UK) & School Of Thought (UK). Breaks & 4/4 is the theme again so head down to la di da and celebrate Easter in style. More International acts to be announced but we can’t give too much away right now!!!

Size matters, and by any standard of measurement, Alex Metric's talent is large, as made clear by the release of his new debut artist e.p. Whatshewants, on the acclaimed Marine Parade label. At just 26 years of age, Marine Parade's newest signing has made a big splash as both DJ and producer. He's played gigs spanning the globe from Fabric in London to Eastern European festivals to Los Angeles clubs, and developed a significant rep for his work in the studio assisting superstars ranging from Adam Freeland to Darren Emerson. Nominated as breakthrough producer at the 2006 Breakspoll awards, Metric's also getting buzz for his own production work. DJs across the board have begun to sit up and take notice of his productions on a wide range of esteemed imprints, including Underwater, Fourtwenty, Lot49 and now Marine Parade, with support from the likes of Adam Freeland, James Holden, Laurent Garnier, Pete Tong, Meat Katie, James Zabiela and M.A.N.D.Y. Of late, Metric's completed official remixes for the likes of GusGus, Black Daniel, Sharam Jey, and Jape (Metric's driving remix of Jape's hit “Floating” was recently featured on Adam Freeland's Global Underground 032: Mexico City mix CD).

School Of Thought (UK)

The driving force behind the award winning Against The Grain & SuperCharged record labels and club nights, home to the likes of the Freestylers, Krafty Kuts, Splitloop and of course Skool Of Thought. He is the guy responsible for the enormous Paplo Gad “When I Was A Yout”, Groove Armada “Superstylin” and Beastie Boys “Fight For Your Right” breaks bootlegs. Described by IDJ magazine as “an underrated genius” for his Heavy Weight Breaks album and recognised by DJ magazine as helping form the “nu skool breaks” scene. Skool Of Thought is now set to release his debut artist album “Random Acts Of Kindness” on Against the Grain in October. It's time for a lesson from skool!

4 Internationals, 2 rooms, Free Gourmet BBQ and tunes all day and all night…

It really doesn’t get much better than this for a Sunday session!

I'm sorry to say guys but we have some very unfortunate news...

Alex Metric & Skool Of Thought will no longer be playing at next sunday nights show for "The Last Sunday". Unfortunately it was out of our control

A full press release will be issued shortly to everyone in the next few days.

how ever if you are still keen to see Alex Metric play, he will be playing at Revolver Sun 23 March.
