We are aware there that while most people had an incredible time, Parklife Melbourne last year wasn’t perfect and as promoters we are committed to giving you the best show possible. We have taken lessons learned last year very seriously and are making changes which will ensure you the best experience possible for Parklife Melbourne 2008.

Last year’s capacity was based on a safety sign off recommendation. This year we will be reducing the number of tickets sold by 25%. There will be also be a new venue layout with new stage positions to open the venue up more and allow for an easier flow through the site giving you more room to move and enjoy the day.

There will be no drink ticket system at Parklife Melbourne, which will mean fewer queues and less waiting around for everyone!

We are committed to give you the best Parklife experience possible and with the new changes we expect it to be a fantastic day for everyone who comes. With the reduced number of tickets we expect it to sell out quicker than in previous years so be sure not to miss out!
For those interested I just found out that Goldfrapp will be doing sideshows.

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
First year was awesome.. one of the best run festivals I've been to.
Last year would have been great if it wasn't for the over crowding.
If they fix that I think I'll be more than happy to go

Absolutely 100% agree!! Might see you around a bit hahah..

Tent hopping can be a bit annoyin tho...might have to save some energy for the STOMP

Pretty keen to see Dizzee too but saw him at BDO this year. Might not be the best closer anyway

Besides starting the day with issues with my ticket scanning, bastards kept making me go back to the ticket booth 3 times!
Only to have a guy use his fucken brain and tap in my number manually, gees some chicks are just dumb! But other than that
the day was just perfect! Main highlight for me was getting to see Peaches, I'll remember never to wear thongs in a mosh pit again!
Goldfrapp was just dreamy, god I love her voice!
Saw a little bit of 2 many Dj's then made my way down to catch Dizzee.
An awesome day, now my body is paying for it today!

Slyde was highlight for me. Thayer's set was funky as always. Diplo was fairly goood. Soulwax were awesome! Blackalicious were pretty good and Plumps freakin smashed it! Had to finish off by watching Does It Offend You Yeah tho.. My girl likes them. They sucked the balls if u ask me! Glad it pissed down and cut their set short :)
Weather was wicked and thank god i had vip tix cos the toilet and bar queue's were ridiculous!

Sucks. Seems that they're at all the majors these days, especially @ the Music Bowl.

Totally agree, Slyde were my fave set, great energy and tunes (and CD scratchin!), had a good dance up the front with my mates

Soulwax + Plumps also great, Does it Offend You were decent I reckon, pretty bangin' at times and pity they got cut short, the playing in the rain was sweet
It was just shit that they only got to play for half an hour cos they started late too

its stupid too.

i agree theres gotta be a detterent for people not to go crazy, but at the same time as always is the case with any sort of public policy there are going to be unwanted side effects.

in this case it results in people taking their entire supply all at once at the start of the day - not ideal, and you get bet that people will be seeking longer lasting whatevers next years in anticipation of that problem.

when the focus goes to enforcement and the law the focus moves away from safety and health which IMO should be the event organisers and the police's foremost concern.

Weather was perfect besides a little bit of rain right at the end.
Thayer kicked off proceedings with style, his mario bros bootleg was teh awesome!
Slyde and Plumps both smashed it. Does it Offend you, yeah were rocking! A definite highlight.
Crowd size was spot on, could get to every stage easily and the bar and toilet queues were not
too bad.

Headed along to the Perth event. The organisers need some serious lessons in queue management - there was basically one large mob trying to get in one entrance and I ended up waiting an hour to get in. I ended up giving up trying to get a beer and went for the healthier boost juice option instead (wish I'd snuck some vodka in!)

Highlights of the day for me were Goldfrapp and Soulwax (how good is the singer from Goldfrapp's voice!) Caught some of Slyde and Plumps, big smashing tunes but pretty unexciting sets. 8 boy bit was pretty cool, and the local stage also displayed some decent perth talent.

Good point.

For the sake of 1-2 arrests and shitloads of cautions, is it really worth the risk to possible OD's.

needs more dealers charging a bit extra to deliver via a tennis ball over the fence half way through the day IMO, just like they do in prison.
No money exchange at that point so if they get caught is that classified as dealing? or is that sharing?
