bigups almax for being as voracious and excitable when it comes to new information as me.
and then the next part, and the next , and the next.
cute!

bigups to four day four day weekend
bigups to honesty and bravery in matters of the heart
bigups to culling dead wood
bigups to more rain

it isnt but

using what we have more wisely is the key, the only reason why people think that
it all about creating new ways to create energy is because the ammount of press it gets.

when was the last time you saw a news story about using energy effectivley rather than
carbon capture technology and wind farms.

need i say more.

got this image from my dad, cant remember which report this is from i think it from
a report that Amraee some one, he is an enviromental economist from USA

but fuck we could argue this for ages.

and i frankly cbf.

They presented such good arguments in the doco, guess you can do that when you twist the facts.
Oh well, back to being an emission reductionist, there goes my plan of buying a hummer

edit: whoops, this is the big up thread so big ups to deviant for pointing that out

i swear i posted this b4 :banghead: but now is gone. damn fairy

nyways.

look at the whole c02 thing like this, even if what that doco says is true (which imo it is bullshit)

there is nothing wrong with cutting down our dependence on things that create c02.

by making things more effecient we end up making more money.

which at the end of the day is the thing which is making us not act.

the key way stop/slow global warming down is to be more efficient in the way we use it.

i posted a graph in another thread cant remember which one, but it essentially shows the major things
we need to do in order to stop global warming.
the biggest enemy to the environment is definitely money, the problem is that none of the changes required in the short term come cheap and yet if environmental practice was capable of generating revenue through intelligent business and industry reform I think it would gain a whole new perspective.

being green just doesn't make good business sense, unless being otherwise is heavily penalised or real alternatives like biofuels can be cashed in on quickly.

it needs sexing up with a lot more innovation imo which also costs money

i dont disagree with increased efficiency but i think its necessary to seperate efficiency from hairshirting and just 'doing without' which doesnt gain community traction.

i aint saying do with out for a second.

how bout things like this.

turn all the lights off in office buildings.
give every low income family insulation in there houses so there is no need for heating.
start making it manditory that all apliances have a 5 star rating (imo this would not increase prices
as there would be mass production of 5 star appliances & if countries like china who are producing these
things have access to cheap 5 star appliances then it is going to save alot of energy)
subsadise fuel efficient cars not nessecarilly hybrids but cars like a honda jazz (ugly yes) but it is sooooo
fuel efficient.
put a charge on driving in the city (like in london)

there are sooo many things we can do.

Massive ups my brother recording his first studio album this summer and dedicating it to me.

I love living vicariously through my obscenely talented sibling.
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."
