I'm helping my dad find a new computer and I'm not really up to date with all the latest hardware.
Is THIS a good deal?

Backup copies?
Is that just ripped game?
I was interested in modding the Wii - bit I'm pretty sure it'll void my warranty.
Rentals for me.

modding does indeed void the warranty. however the twilight hack does not.

Re: the official console and PC nerdy thread!
Okay, so I finished Dead Space last night. Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish, some awesome standout moments though, mostly concerning zero-G environments. Some real scares and hectic moments throughout. The set pieces were really well done, though, and that's what made the game memorable for me. The dismemberments, the creative enemy types etc. Some of the weapons were a bit naff though, and I barely used them. I pretty much used the starting cutter weapon, the line gun, and the pulse rifle for the teeny tiny enemies that sometimes popped up during my travels.
The game was more evolutionary than revolutionary though, taking elements of Resident Evil 4, System Shock 2, Doom 3, Event Horizon, Aliens and countless other sci-horror films and forming a very enjoyable, if derivative experience.

Don't have it yet but going to get it asap, played it quite a bit with a friend who got it.quick wrote:is little big planet worth getting? anyone played it?
2-player/multiplayer is where it really shines, all about the co-op sections and getting all the items.
Online really fun too, heaps of user generated levels and the level-editor is where you'd spend most of your time once you finish the standard levels I reckon.
But the developers are gonna keep releasing new levels aswell
But all in all its a must-have for any PS3 owner I reckon.

Re: the official console and PC nerdy thread!
LOL, funny reading
Love how he gives 90% of games 0 and 10% straight 10s and says why not a 10 ign
Except GTA4 because they DID give it a 10 he gives it 8.5 and says not worth 10. Hahahah
And then gives non-ps3 versions shit
The Wrath of the Lich King one is pretty amusing too

Midway games has been sold for... $100,000!

I knew they were in trouble, but DAMN! Might have to wait a bit longer for that Killer Instinct redux.

Re: the official console and PC nerdy thread!
Most people have this problem because something has fried inside (common overheating problem, i believe). Microsoft can do repairs within and I think without warranty, but it will cost a fee if out of warranty. I personally had this issue, went through the troubleshooting steps and it turns out the harddrive thingo was a little loose. I removed it, then reinserted and the three red rings were gone. Been stable for 12 more monthskronz wrote:I have the 3 lights of death on my 360.
