in my opinion i think this is pretty low and an attempt to cash in to get market share and free advertising
coles made 790 million dollars profit last year, they can afford to donate truckloads of necessary materials
and not have customer cover their costs for the day

was talking about friends whos burnt down in tassie couple years back - how they were so wacked from the experince the idea of buying stuff was too much, how matierial things were so helpful

Went down to the call centre for a few hours and what a humbling experience it was. People's generosity was quite overwhelming. Had an old fella from Qld pitch $1K and offer his house as accomm, a girl of about 5 donate her pocket money, pensioners worrying that they only had their collection of gold coins and not knowing where to go, and others feeling guilty about giving their last $50. Was really heart warming. I reckon in the 4 hours i was there i'd have taken at least $5k in donations.

Might go down again on the weekend.

(and lol at the woman who rang and asked straight away "are you a celebrity?!" after the telethon started)

one guy i chatted to had trouble getting in contact with his mate, when they finally did get in touch they both were fine and homes were okay, but his mate's friends who lived in Maryville had left their property but went back to get something and got caught in the fire and died. he said he is still in shock and it hasn't quite hit him but that he is just overwhelmed with how Australia has responded.

will be heading down again on Saturday to help out.

lol at people wanting to chat to celebs. i had a father ask me cos his kids were asking him in the background whether i was a celeb. i just told him to tell em i was Queen Elizabeth, he laffed.

I dig wot ya sayin Same o, but there's two sides to the coin mate. This guy is affiliated with Assembly of God church (AOG). It's by no means a small organistaion. It's fucken huge dude. My MUM and SISTER attend an AOG church about three times a week. Kinda hits home a bit, na mean??

Best mate's little sister was evacuated from Harkaway yesterday
Nobody could get in contact with her so he drove to the property, towards fire. By time he got there she was gone and he and another mate hung around putting out spot fires. Apparently a front was roughly 500 metres away

Was eerie as yesterday, when the wind changed, we got covered in ash for about 2 mins. Couldn't see further than about 100 metres
