Turn the tables.

Subvert pioneered the only all girl lineup for Melbourne's connoisseur dnb headz. Female DJ’s are under-represented in most genres but particularly in the drum & bass scene. Anyone attending a drum & bass night will notice a major gender imbalance behind the decks.

Subvert changes all that. We’ve hand picked the finest female talent in Melbourne for Subvert’s 2009 return, boasting the crème de la crème playing hip hop, jungle and mad drum & bass.

Residents Mixtress, C:1, Dust, Fiend and Myst are joined by Eliza MC and special guest DJ Gem.

Every single DJ owned and the crowd fucking loved it...the interaction with the punters was just magic. Eliza did a brilliant job MC'ing the gig, she's got some serious lungs on her! More female MC's please, adds an element that's really missing in Melbs.

Shame I couldn't play a full set but my back was aching like a son of a bitch, so special thanks to Myst, Gem and C:1 for playing a little extra to make up for it. Gem's tunes were jungle gold, I'd give anything to get my hands on those tracks

Mad respect to the Laundry crew, and especially Mal. Sorry I couldn't help setting up, stupid spine

Big night, very happy. Next one will be even better

thanks so much for having me down i had an awesum time! really great way to celebrate part of my birthday

mc eliza was great, would love to see her mcing more at parties - good female vocals and dirty basslines are such a nice contrast
