How is the Melbourne D&B scene these days?

Things here are going really well currently. There's a host of people working really

hard at everything from production to promoting quality events. It's an exciting time

to be involved with the music!

Has the Melbourne scene diminished or flourished in recent years? Or is there

always a supportive solid crew around?

The scene here, like everywhere, is constantly evolving and changing. There's a

really healthy influx of fresh DJs, MCs and producers at the moment, and a

continuing show of support from punters alike. The addition of the mighty MC

LowQui to the city is fantastic as well - the guy's a wealth of knowledge on and off

stage. Overall, its looking like being a great year in Melbourne.

When you play in Adelaide, do you find that the ADL massive are pretty tuned in to

the same tunes and sounds that you’re into?

Yeah for the most part, i think so. Some people always gonna rather it deeper or

some more angled towards a certain direction though.

Has there been any styles or developments in D&B that has changed your

style/sound since you were last in Adelaide?

My tastes are constantly changing, and the music hasn't been as exciting as it is

currently for some time. The wealth of talent from all around the globe and the

quality and diversity of music at the moment is so good. I guess with me i never lock

into any one sound - anything goes.. I'm loving music from guys like Intra:mental,

Alix Perez, Spectrasoul and Data and all the deeper moodier stuff, and will happily

reach for the latest Subfocus or Logistics 12" throughout a set too.

How is the ForwardFocus radio show and the ForwardFocus promo outfit going?

Yeah the radio show's going really well thanks. It's a great outlet to keep people in

the loop with what's going on musically, and where Joe & I are at. It's something i

love doing and is always real nice to not have to consider a dancefloor in some

respects, and play those bits n pieces that may not translate as well. The promo

side of things has been put on the back burner for the past 12months or so, but am

looking to get a new project underway shortly - stay tuned.

What is coming up for you musically in the near future that you’re excited about?

Well first off, I'm really excited to be getting back to Adelaide for an inbound

session. The crew there are always amazing. To be doing the show alongside a

talent like LowQui will be a real buzz too - i can't talk him up enough, he's

captivated Melbourne's club scene since he moved here and is an amazing artist in

his own right.
Of late I've been trying to put as much time in the studio as possible and things are

progressing really well in that respect. Hopefully you'll hear more from me on that

front sooner than later.
