2009 NBA playoffs thread

Post by Hardy »

Anybody else following this? Absolutely MONSTER series this year. Go Orlando! Would love to see them take it out this year. Kickass game against Cleveland today. James with 43 points and 8 assists. Still wasn't enough though.

Predictions anyone? Ireckon it'll be an Orland/Denver final, Denver will prob take it out.

I wish I was still up-to-date with the NBA.

Haven't been since about '98... it's all on pay-tv now.

http://www.nba.com streams most games live. They show a lot of games on that HD1 sport channel too (i think that's what it's called?).

James is not human, the man is a complete freak.

Yeah the game timing is bad, but luckily my boss is an NBA fiend, so we watch it on the big telly at work, or watch it at our desks. Not a lot of work is getting done this month.

Anyone else watch Cleveland-Orlando tonight??? That was such a game. Watching Lebron score 49 and to lose reminded me of MJ scoring 60+ and losing to Boston all those years ago.

How mad was that 3 quarter court shot on the buzzer! Awesome game. Some mad dunks and rejections. Lebron is too freakin good. Are Boston still in it?

That was a MAD shot!

Boston are out, were knocked out by Orlando in the semis.

Denver have closed the gap, down by 1 at half time.

Hell no, Orlando will kill 'em. They're on fire right now. Cavs may have James, but Orlando have a solid all round team. Howard, Turkoglu and Lee FTW!!!

That was fucking MENTAL. The man is just a freak. Wicked game though, Orland down from the start but slowly edged their way back. Not enough though. Game 3 starting soon!

Didn't get to see the Lakers game yesterday.

Denver and LA tied at 2-2. Nuggets took it to the Lakers, pretty convincing win. Lakers were clearly feeling the pressure in the last quarter.

wow this series between Cleveland and Orlando is intense, 3 out of 4 games has come down to the last shot. Lebron again, clutch shooting on the line for OT, then he hits a 3 to bring them within 1 with a few seconds to go. When he got that shot away for the win i was almost expecting it to go in.

Yep. I initially thought Denver would get through, but they looked pretty ugly in the final quarter today. Definitely couldn't handle the pressure. Then again, Kobe is the only consistent player for LA at the mo, but they'll hold it together. Orlando will belt Cleveland tomorrow IMO.

I reckon LA will take the pennant, but I would love to see Orlando win. If Lakers continue playing like they are, I reckon Magic are in with a very good chance, but if Odom, Bynum and Gasol can play consistently, Lakers will kill it.

If Lakers cannot shut down Dwight and cannot outshoot Lewis, Turkoglu, etc. then Magic have got it in the bag.

I feel really bad for LeBron but his team mates have been shooting terribly. I can't say the big men are to blame because so far they've done a decent job on Howard however letting him score 10 points in overtime last game is unforgivable. It'll be very interesting to see Game 5 tomorrow. Yay for unemployment I haven't missed a game yet.

BTW Bulls vs. Celtics series was one of the best i've seen since Bulls Vs. Knicks in 1992.

Game 6 in Orlando...too tough for the Cavs.

To be up by 24 in the 1st Quarter and then up by 1 in the half means something's not right.
