wtf happened to parties where ppl recognised the need to escape main floor now n then.
i was lamenting this with people the other day, some parties used to make so much effort and 'side room' was actually the 'chill',
create amazing spaces to lush out, trip out, even make things, rather than cramming some other semi complementary genre in there and making dancefloor number 2.

now parties are often four walls, lazors and relentless bpm's till dawn, fun, yes, but
i miss the chill aspect.

AND, it used to be encouraged to chill the fuck out, but lately one lies even halfway down to chat to a friend and you are booted out of the venue (happened to me @ bunker a while ago, friend lying down with head in my lap, having a chat, and we were told to get up of fuck off - we left)

'no lying down' is a common policy now.
i mean, no sleeping next to bass bin, okay, lets save our little ears, and not get trodden on on dancefloor, but lying down is ok isnt it! if one is conscious!

I went to this crazy party there a few weeks ago called 'Voyeur'

was SO left of centre, nekkid violinists, secret boxes you put your hands in and touch random live body parts, live tattooing (dubious to say the least), a peep show my stripper friend did where she got drunk, shaved her legs and vomited red wine and threw the bottles at us peeping in. Shadow puppets, burlesque whores, best characters ever, was like rainbow serpent monday morning x 50 in the city.
Totally random, total freaks, and SO fucking cool.

Its gonna be a great party ladies, the lineup is so awesome.

most of the tunes were too proggy for me, I enjoyed cammo's set but the hippies didnae know how to dance to it.

usually parties like these have psy Djs, so the lineup was promising to be diff/better than that,

but it didnt really get there for me personally.

thats cool, I like a lot of the guys on the lineup but they did what good Djs do and played the the crowd i guess.

hence = way more progressive than their usual sound imho, and not my cup of mushroom tea.

i love psytrance, but they weren't even playing that. just proggy stuff with a repetitive melody that dragged on un-modified for way too long. really seemed to be lowest common denominator stuff, ie 4-4 kick and bassline = room full of people will dance regardless

on the positive side - fantastic venue, fantastic people and fantastic vibe. really enjoyed myself, woulda stayed longer and gone harder if there was something worth dancing to though :/

As ghetto kitty said the music didn't really blow my mind ( 'tho one dj played a few good tunes ) the crowd was massive friendly & i still danced the morning away . haha. didn't even find the back dub room - dammit
