thought it was balls.

Watched Moon the other night. Sam Rockwell is nowhere near interesting enough to hold my attention for 1.5 hours and frankly the movie was pretty fucking boring - no suprises in plot either.

I was like that after I saw Blade Runner at the Astor once. I overheard this lil kid saying "that was a dumb movie I dun geddit" and I ran away crying. :smt006

Seriously though, each to their own. Angels and Demons, much like Dan Browns books, IMO is based off a tired formula - big bad happens omg a clue omg another clue omg another clue a twist bang movies finished. Further to that, smatterings of religious iconography and symbolism mashed together with twisted non-fiction doesn't really sit well with me.

oh yeah, watched He's Just Not That Into You for the second time tonight. It's like a modern day When Harry Met Sally with a few more characters and a little less charm.

It's cleverly written and well acted, and pulls together really nicely at the end except for the fucking stupid unnecessary cliche voiceover.

also, i am slightly obsessed with Jennifer Connelly.

I just got back from Paranormal Activity. Absolutely fucking WOEFUL. The entire cinema laughed in total disbelief when it finished, it was just fucking awful. Golf claps and all.

The only positives I can say were that the chemistry between the couple was very good and believable, and the chick had cracking tits.

it was okay, but for someone who has read the book and actually bought four copies of it in the last couple years to give to people,
the messages in it were all screwed up!!
it actually goes AGAINST everything the book says, they all end up together in the end pretty much! GAH!
at the end, your supposed to feel GOOD about being single, empowered by not taking shit from people who just aretn that into you etc, but I felt like it ended like every other rom com and that was major fail.

I agree its a bunch of hokum pokum but by today's standards its a pretty slick little thriller (until the finale), and I thought the acting was plausible throughout.

Just watched Surrogates. Fantastic ideas and relatively well fleshed out basic concepts and whatnot but let down by a failure to delve just a little bit deeper into the hypothesized culture and technology. Performances are generally pretty flat as well. Bruce just seems to be going through the motions and every other character is exceedingly one-dimensional.

Brucey, i love ya and imma let you finish but Avatar probably has the best i'm-in-another-body-now movie this year.

It picks up! I think iv watched upto the end of S2 - and it's not too bad.
It's no breaking bad, but it's still pretty enjoyable. The first few episodes feel a bit mis-jointed, but once you get into it a bit the story line picks up and things start to get heated.
Mini Driver is great in it - iv got a massive soft spot for her.

Watched 'The Man From Earth' last night and really enjoyed it.
I downloaded it purely on an impulse based on the cover and the name - i thought it was going to be some out of control sci fi alien movie, but boy was i wrong.

Image
The plot focuses on John Oldman, a departing teacher who claims to be a Cro-Magnon (or Magdalenian caveman) who has somehow survived for over 14,000 years. The only setting is in and around Oldman's house during his farewell party, with the plot advancing through intellectual arguments between Oldman and his fellow faculty.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_from_Earth

Despite the movie only being set in the one house, it didn't drag and i was engaged the whole time. The majority of the movie revolves around discussions with the main character and his friends. Alot of what they discuss is fairly well put together, and from what i could gather, not having too much experience with historical events and such, it was fairly well researched and it seemed as tho the writer had done his job in disproving/proving certain things throughout.

If your looking for a high-budget movie with heaps of laughs, or action, stray away from this, but if your up for something that will make you think and provoke some thought, get down :)

Really keen to hear if anyone else has seen this!

Watched Jennifer's Body and Zombieland in the last few days.

Both pretty damn good. Zombieland is hilarious (Woody Harrelson ftw) and Jennifer's Body was a bit more graphic and dark than I thought it would be.

Just saw a preview to the new movie coming out in April, Clash Of The Titans with Sam Worthington, Liam Neison and such. The tagline?

"Titans will clash"

I mean come on!!! It's like they spent all their imagination on the movie and couldn't come up with anything better for the advertising.

saw 2012 with Hardy and Mecka. Lols a plenty in terms of storyline, but the destruction/action stuff was fricken awesome!!!! well worth seeing it on the big screen just to watch everything blowing up and falling over

saw The Time Traveller's Wife last night. I really liked it, it moved constantly and never got boring imo.

i managed to make the entire cinema laugh when i had one my mouth and brian did not communicate that what i am thinking should not always be said. my mates and i walked up to our seats to find two people snogging like crazy and i blurted out quite loudly "ewwww there is like two people snogging where my seat is". lol hilarious. poor girl was mortified and the guy was like wtf? oppss!

Bo, get on SOA very fast, its the bomb!! Ive got Season 1 and up to Ep 10 of season 2 at my house, can always give you as long as you can play AVI files.

Ive caught up to US tho which is a bugger. Waiting a week between episodes is simply not ideal. Will watch something else til i can get the last 3 and watch em at once. Smoking or not, I freakin forget whats just happened if I dont watch em in a row.

Need some movies to watch tonight...

Checked out The Good The Bad The Weird tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed what they called a noodle western, lots of action and quite a few chuckles. Great cinematography too. The lead "good" guy bears more than a passing resemblance to JPS, pretty hard to remove myself from seeing him as just some actor. Fantastic twists at the end, had me nodding with approval during the last few moments.

Saw '9' the other week - CGI Anime Fantasy produced by Tim Burton. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Has that dark unique Burton feel to the whole movie and to all of the characters. I was surprised at how dark and evil some of the characters were - could see kids getting fairly shook up at some of them!

I watched Antichrist last night by Lars Von Trier.

Fucking full on.
This is not a movie for the faint hearted, and not a movie for those of you who like to escape the dark side of life...

visually AMAZING, the first sequence is a film masterpiece, but my god if it isnt DARK and brutal as fuck.
a copule scenes had me crawling up the wall away from the screen...going 'oh fuck oh fuck'
but many concepts covered, death and rebirth, the passion of sex and death, love and hatred, the power of animals, dreams...

Cant say i 'liked' it , but it really was an experience.

7 out of 10.
