Lineup!

On Jan 14, 2005 the Melbourne Beats crew along with some 700+ people raised around $17,000 for the Asia Quake & Tsunami appeal. This forum is an archive of the organisational discussion for the event.

Lineup!

Post by Ani »

I'm guessing that most people have seen on the old thread, or heard some way or another that we have been lucky enough to have BLIM, Nubreed, Phil K, and Andy Page volunteer their time and talents. Added to this, we have had an overwhelming response by local DJ's to join the lineup. The problem is, we simply won't have the time for everyone, as much as I would love to have you all on the bill.
Until we confirm a second room, the above mentioned will be the headlining acts in the main room, with some local support.
We are hoping that we can arrange a second room, where we'll have a range of locals mixing, and possibly/ideally some back to back. A tentative list has been made, using the names we think will draw the crowds. The reality is we need to draw the crowd. Without a crowd, no money. No money, no point. Sorry, but with everyone wanting to play (which is no doubt fantastic!) it's the only way to get things happening.

If you are not on the bill, please, we will need your help still to make this happen, in the coming week and on the night. I will update definates soon, after I have talked to the POW.

EDIT: Mainroom:
BLIM, Nubreed, Andy Page, Phil K, Brewster vs Lynt, kombat bass, Fletch & Seven, Blueprint

we're yet to 100% confirm all the dnb acts, but we definately have Kombatt Bass & Beatski. will be trying to confirm Motive & also Lex & Rux.

waiting to hear from The Prince as to whether or not we have the balcony. if so, we can have a shitload more acts, mostly dnb.

I've spoken to Wasp, Sponk and Dopebeat and they are keen for a Bass Addicts vs DMZ if we get the extra space.

OK kids.

Some more exciting news!

Agent MAD are happy to confirm that not only will the wonderful BLIM be generously donating his time to the event....

but also...

MC Tali with Hollie G, Zaniah & DJ Motive! have been very kind and confirmed that they are happy to fly into Melbourne especially for this show!

At this stage it will be their only Melbourne performance :)

Shock Records have been very generous and contributed by paying for the flights for the 3 girls into Melbourne! :)

So big thanks to BLIM, Tali, Hollie, Zaniah, Motive and Shock :)

press release doesn't need to be that long - max 150 words ... I'd initially go in with lineup/dates/etc early for a mass push ... then email each publication you're interested in getting wider exposure in and give them the personal touch.

NB - if the release doesn't go out by 12 tomorrow chances of it running in any media are really slim.

Hopefully if the POW hassles the Herald Sun they will give it some editorial space, I didn't have much luck in that regard....
