$30 bucks on the door.
Re: APR9/HEAVY INNIT!!/FOREIGNBEGGARS/PINCH/NOAHD/TROLLEYSNA
is the main room going to be downstairs? or the large room up top?
Re: APR9/HEAVY INNIT!!/FOREIGNBEGGARS/PINCH/NOAHD/TROLLEYSNA
The main room will be downstairs with the mezzanine level for viewing. Garden bar upstairs for the smokers.
HEAVY INNIT!!

That was off the fucking hook... I've been hankering for a night like that for probably a whole year and you guys gave it to me - sideways - thanks!
Scoff away at me but I'd never even heard of Foreign Beggars before this gig - they now have a new fan (two counting my lady). WOW! Just fucking wow! Pinch was good for a boogie and Noah D and Trolley Snatcha just about made me lose my shit. I thought the music in the garden bar started off a bit poxy (sorry guys) but by midnight it was getting nice and messy up there too...
Hey that's the best venue - been to Brown Alley before but not in that mezzanine room... Just awesome. Did anyone shoot video of the dude jumping off the speaker stack!?
So what's next for Heavy Innit?

Re: APR9/HEAVY INNIT!!/FOREIGNBEGGARS/PINCH/NOAHD/TROLLEYSNA
Fuuuucking insane evening! Highlight was def FBs separating the crowd in 2 and making them smash together! Haven't seen shit like that since back in my metal days!!
Big ups Heavy Innit - absolutely smashed the place to pieces!!!

That was one of the most brutally fun gigs I have been to for a long time.
Broke my glasses, knocked a filling out of my teeth, and obliterated my shoes. And that was before the WALL OF DEATH!!! ..
Massive thanks to all involved for throwing a legendary Party!!

Yeah why not? Tell me it's not just the bouncers? In my clubbing experience, I've very rarely met a bouncer I liked. Sure there have been a few but not enough that I would expect them to be good. The bar staff weren't that bad either were they?

:S I had no issue with Brown Alley whatsoever apart from no free water but then again I didn't drink and snuck in line
Re: APR9/HEAVY INNIT!!/FOREIGNBEGGARS/PINCH/NOAHD/TROLLEYSNA
The only thing I disliked about this gig were the fkn stairs - 3 flights from stage to stage wit a bung knee was pretty annoying... Oh, n there were waaay too many dudes wit skinny jeans and "Mighty Boosh"-esque hair do's!

Re: APR9/HEAVY INNIT!!/FOREIGNBEGGARS/PINCH/NOAHD/TROLLEYSNA
for me, the place is just not set out right.
the garden bar is pretty good, its such a nice novelty being near music drinking and smoking now heehe
but there was (and always is) too many people packed into the small main areas in each room and the empty space around was just that - nowhere to sit etc. and you lose your crew unless your joined at the hip cos the levels are all so totally seperate.
tbh the weekend proved to me that dubstep has now hit critical mass and a level of commercial appeal that means I'm just not up for the big gigs anymore. too many rude young men with no idea about packed dancefloor ettiquite, and I dont mean the mosh pit. that coupled with the skanky hoes gurning all over each other on stage just were wrongtown to me.
i have massive respect for the HI boys, and it makes me happy to see them pack out a gig like that after the humble beginnings of Laundry etc. Ill always remember the Heavy Innit gig where I had two beers and danced to Caspa all night with half a room full of people as my favorite HI moment. (and the ones in the park this summer)
(too old for the agro rave but still/always big love for you guys <3 )

Yeah the stairs were a bit tough but worth it to have that awesome space imo...
I was talking on the night about how the crowds at the dubstep parties I've been to have been really diverse. I like it! I didn't feel like there was too many of one 'type' of person there at all. Definitely bumped into some people I didn't expect to see too!
I know what you mean Ghetto... I hardly go out anymore partially because I get a bit over some of the people but didn't experience that on Friday night. Of course I saw the silly women on the stage but they seemed to be part of a minority.
What was wrong with the tap water in the toilets? I hope nothing 'cos I probably drank about 5 litres of it!

that's definitely up there with my dubstep highlights - if not my favourite. stomping around like a mad woman and not giving a flying fark. was best. thanks for sparking that wee memory chops! xghetto kitty wrote: Ill always remember the Heavy Innit gig where I had two beers and danced to Caspa all night with half a room full of people as my favorite HI moment. Re: APR9/HEAVY INNIT!!/FOREIGNBEGGARS/PINCH/NOAHD/TROLLEYSNA
Affiks & I we're really pleased to see so many people having a good time on Friday and the positive feedback on the net since has been amazing. it was an awesome party thanks to everyone involved - especially Foreign Beggars who set the place alight.
no party is ever going to be perfect, and all the venues in town have their faults. i feel that it's important to take this opportunity to thank Brown Alley for helping us present such a wicked line-up. without their support the party would never have happened. sure, we had a few issues first time around, but we will be putting on more parties there in the future. that might disappoint some, but i know it will please others. we'll be working on a few of the little things that make a huge difference, like the attitude of bouncers, venue management, pass-outs, etc... stuff that we weren't happy with on the night either.
but overall a sick night and i'm really glad that it worked (and we broke even! - a tough feat considering the hefty budget)

yeah, the venue's no reflection on the rest of the party really ... big up the heavy innit kids always
was an absolutely wild night, fbs ripped the shit out of it, pinch was one of the sets of the year for me, all the tunes he was packing (him, mala, jack sparrow, etc) sound fucking massive on a system!
jesus there were a lot of people during fbs too.

hey Bo, didn't take anything to heart at all. just had to defend the venue a little because they really did a lot to facilitate the event. as i say, there's things i'd like to fix. but there's also things I'd like to fix about other venues too.
until the ultimate venue for bass music comes along, we'll be using venues like Brown Alley, Mercat and maybe Roxanne... if anyone has any suggestions we're all ears (and a few eyes)...
