If you wash them too early the indigo just bleeds out over the whole garment and gives an even, dark indigo colour and the magic process is gone.
The magic process of shitification? Consistent colour or gtfo.

Nawww. One of my students consistently tells me about 'integrills'

It's actually a bit of a worry, seeing pretty much every question says "Find the following integral"...

The other day, a girl I know (who is not generally country) was very earnestly asking "Well, who all am I meant to invite?" Well, we all, honey!

I still dun speak good proper Oklahoman, but I feel like I am progressing as a local now that I have pet roadkill. The road I walk along to work seems to be some kind of wildlife suicide centre. In all its beneficence, the local council just leaves the corpses there to rot (doesn't even move them off/away from the road :? ) There have been two dead animals I have been watching liquefy over the past month or so (happily, neither of them is a skunk this time). I was starting to get optimistic that perhaps I was close to a commute without the heady fumes of death, but LO! This morning, we have added a dead armadillo to the collection.

And verily, retzie was destined to live in pestilence evermore :(

Wowsers!! I'd LOVE an armadillo skull!! I've got a dead wombat hidden away near the Mornington Penninsula. Will be going back and picking up the bones in about 3 months when it is all bleached and lovely. Can haz Trading Places (tm) Retzie? You can be wetland designer with weekend rave/shard commitments and I'll pass on the miracles of braid theory by teaching the Oklahoma football team how to crochet.

:retzielikes: It's a deal!!

I will observe Mr Armadillo's decomposition process (possibly even make a commemorative gif). He seems to be out of the way in a gutter, so perhaps he will be allowed to putrify in peace. If, at any point, the opportunity to safeguard and later decapitate the corpse arises, I will let you know. (Ooo, there is half a chance it would actually get to you in Canada too...)

In the meantime, can I tempt you with a dead raccoon that is much further along? At the 'tail ruffling in the breeze' stage.

Of course, when you get here you will discover that you can probably just ask around the locals for roadkill remains when they are done with dinner...

Stop the presses: THE ARMADILLO IS GONE!!!!

Image Image Image

No-one here ever ever ever ever moves roadkill, but the 'dillo was barely there for a day and now he's been abducted! I am concerned for his safety/sanctity of his corpse Image. Cia, maybe they heard of our international roadkill smuggling racket??

By the way, the reference to eating roadkill is not actually a joke. West Virginia (at least) had to make eating roadkill illegal. Not so much for the trawling half-wit hillbillies, but because people after a spot of venison for dinner would just mow the fuckers down :?

Question:

I need a little run about car - seriously only to get me to boxing etc in winter, so i don't want to spend more than say $2k - $3k

But i like old cars.... as in Datto 1200's, the oldest car i have owned was a 72.... looking at a little Humber Vogue etc for like around the $2 - $2.5 mark.. There is a Lancia as well.....

Am i being stupid? Should i just get a little barina, and not drive around town with some style???

The problem with old cars is the servicing cost - anything pre 1988 really, about the 20 year mark.

While you may be able to find a great deal on the sale price of an old Datson, FIAT, Alpha etc - it is going to be the running costs that get you. Beware of rust for 1. Then check what a standard annual service is going to cost - for some of the European names you will be looking at $700+ for the basic annual service just because parts cost more - they need to be specifically found for those cars. And once they have done 200,000 - 250,000km - which most of them will - parts are going to start to be a regular change. And it is never ending.

I run a 1986 Jag - and even with a little bit of know how to fix some things myself - for the most part it costs me around $1000 a year just to run.
