Bad Company and Wild Child @ Platform One

Post by TheOperatives »

Never to be confused with the rock band of the same name, drum'n'bass renegades Jason Maldini, and Michael Wojicky (Vegas) of Bad Company are set to storm Melbourne once again. After their devastating performance at last years easter breaks party alongside Pendulum, they are back for an intimate show. Formed in 1999 from the ashes of seminal Renegade Hardware act Future Forces. "The Nine," the first release by the foursome, proved an unprecedented success for their own eponymous label, while its follow-up, "The Pulse," for Grooverider's Prototype, cemented their reputation as leaders in the field of post-apocalyptic beats. Drum & Bass bad girl Emma Weaver AKA DJ Wildchild has been at the cutting edge of the scene with her original long mixing style. Currently her favourite regular bookings on the Drum & Bass scene include Movement @ Bar Rumba (London), Fabric (London), The End (London), United Dance (London), Coco Shabeen (Bournemouth), Trouble On Vinyl (London) and Traffic (London). Joined by New Zealand’s Confucius and Mysterious D, one of Christchurch’s most versatile DnB duos. Early on the night, eclectic beats with A13, and arsenal later on from Seven, Fletch and JPS.

That party was fat like Casey Donovan (contains 'nuff calories).
Radness, plus I thought Platform 1 was sounding good - at least the system was sort of aimed in one direction this time (as in straight down the tunnel).
Bad Company were solid; could've done with more Wildchild though (she played for only an hour. Oh well). The locals kept things kicking on in fine style 'til the wee smalls too. Boh!
Cheers to all concerned.

will give ya full details tonight mate....

lets just say... don't ever let keir and fletch sit in the back when going through a drive thru at 6am. don't ever let ross try and direct you to his place in port melbourne which is "pretty much on the way to carlton/ivanhoe"... in fact don't ever clean your car and then let sideways dudes into it to drive them home.

hash browns and spilled cola all over the place!

if it wasn't so damn funny i woulda cracked the shits. i blame Jerry completely for it of course.

Well I ended up going because my main man Amick spotted me the money for a ticket (you are a god).

Wildchild was dope. Loved her set. Plus she's gorgeous. Was walking out the door and I saw her, did a double take, then she said hi and in my head I was like "I want you to have my children." but all I got out was "Hi, absolutely beautiful set. Thank you very much."

)E|3( were wicked, although I gotta admit I was rockin' significantly more when Vegas was on the decks as opposed to Maldini. Just more my kind of choons I guess...

I got my way to the front due to my bulkiness, then was rooted in place refusing to budge in my Strong Bad beanie lol. Danced around like a madman for most of it.

All in all a fucking brilliant night.

:)
