Sociopathic wrote: Need to go foundation shopping soon, everyone I've spoken to raves about the fact that with makeup you really do get what you pay for.

My problem is firstly I have really oily skin, even with a mineral powder I found i still ended up shinny looking and ended up having to pack more on. I'm not a huge fan of powders cause i find I waste heaps, it may not actually be any different from using a sponge but I dunno thats just how it seems to me let me know if I'm grossly wrong there.

I have a hell of a time finding matching shades, my mum was black my dad was white and I've got a real weird coloured tan which changes DRAMATICALLY with the seasons. It's not quite dark enough to move into products aimed at people with say african backgrounds but it's not the same kinda coloured tan that (haha first word that came to mind there was normal people) caucasion people get it's a different coloured brown like a real brown brown not a bronze brown.

Another thing I find I dunno if its just me or it happens to everyone i find I think the foundation looks fine others say it looks fine but then in photos my face looks compeltely washed out compared to the rest of me like the foundation I'm using is too pale.

HALP!!!
Ok so if youre oily, first make sure you moisteriser is not making you more oily. Wait for it to settle 5mins on your skin before putting on foundation

Foundation - I swear by ID Bare Minerals.
It completly works with your skin tone so that you see you natural skin tone, plus you still get the coverage. It takes a few goes to get the hang of applying it, but once you will try it you will probably love it, especailly with oily skin ( i have got oily skin, as well as 2 friends i have got onto it and they love it). It is a mineral powder (one of the very first on the market), and has been around for about 15+ years - its very high salon quality.
Price: this is very pricey at Myer/Beauty Clinics ($80-$95), but I have a great website you can get it from for $30 Australian DELIVERED (and its a completly legite website/product).
What I reakon you should do is go into Myer and make pretend your interested, make one of the girls put it on you and show you how to put it on. Then say you need it to settle and see what happens as you are quite oily, and then see what you think. You can also do this at any beauty salon that sells it, or David jones.

Pros: it lets you skin breathe, its very healing (used on patients after they have face-lifts and strong chemical peels to heal their skin), you can see you natural skin tone - colour range is really good, has sunscreen, no blackheads from it, it is used in a lot of really good beauty clinics - so it is salon quality, i find comapred to other foundations it definately stays put the longest!
Cons: you need to get the hang of applying it, and would need to buy the application brush (think around $20 on the net)

Just found this on facebook!!!! It's called boobquake

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/eve ... 6578385346

Help fight supernatural thinking and the oppression of women, just by dressing immodestly!

----------------------
http://www.blaghag.com/2010/04/in-name- ... boobs.html

(For those who want a more serious explanation of the event, please go here: http://www.blaghag.com/2010/04/quick-cl ... quake.html)

"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes," Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media. Sedighi is Tehran's acting Friday prayer leader.

I have a modest proposal.

Sedighi claims that not dressing modestly causes earthquakes. If so, we should be able to test this claim scientifically. You all remember the homeopathy overdose?

Time for a Boobqauke.

On Monday, April 26th, I will wear the most cleavage-showing shirt I own. Yes, the one usually reserved for a night on the town. I encourage other female skeptics to join me and embrace the supposed supernatural power of their breasts. Or short shorts, if that's your preferred form of immodesty. With the power of our scandalous bodies combined, we should surely produce an earthquake. If not, I'm sure Sedighi can come up with a rational explanation for why the ground didn't rumble. And if we really get through to him, maybe it'll be one involving plate tectonics.

So, who's with me? I may be a D cup, but that will probably only produce a slight tremor on its own. If you'll be joining me on twitter, use the tag #boobquake!

----------------------
NOTE: There is no official Boobquake shirt (at least, not yet - I may be able to be convinced if there is a demand, as I am an artist). If you see some saying that proceeds will be donated to charity, buy at your own risk, since I can't guarantee where that money is going. Here are some real charities you can donate directly to:

Dressing modestly won't end earthquakes, so help out the victims of inevitable natural disasters at the Red Cross: http://www.redcross.org/

Ayaan Hirsi Ali Foundation: http://www.theahafoundation.org/

After saying this, I found the greatest shirt in Montreal this weekend. Not one for the office, but it has a hood!!! It's a normal casual lady shirt (which even sorta kinda fits me), with a hood made out of pieces of old mens' shirts. It's fucking awesome. More shirts need hoods imo.

i tried the MAC mineral powder the other day at DJ's after talking to a few of the ditzes at a couple of counters. they thought that the bare escentuals might be too shiny as it has a mother of pearl extract or some bollox. the MAC felt amazing though - so light and smooth and matte. think i might bite the bullet - just got a myer voucher in the mail and have something to exchange, so won't even have to pay for it!

Just to go back to ID Bare Minerals/Escentuals discussion, Mysty got me onto this about a year ago, never ever looked back. I apply it slightly heavily in the morning, after ten minutes it has melted into my skin but with total coverage, and lasts ALL DAY. It really is the business - liquid foundation has nothing on this stuff.
