its been statistically proven that if you give people more internet freedom at work, they work harder.

or maybe its the other way round? either way, not being able to access facebook, yahoo, MB etc when I have nothing to do at work would shit me no end.

totally! you would be a shit worker if you chose surfing the net over urgent work....i stipulate "urgent work" cos sometimes i jump on MB or news sites when i am procrastinating over something lol

we are blocked from facebook and gmail here, but never get cut off the nets. whereas my last job i had full access but for only an hour a day.

surely having a smartphone in your pocket, which it seems everyone does these days, would negate any facebook or email restrictions

no, no ban but it doesn't look good playing on your phone. i keep my web browser screen pretty small and flick between it and Word/Outlook when someone walks by

bloody stupid cat face is messing with my head.

meowing outside my room at 3.30 in the morning. not turning up for breakfast. dissapearing out the back door and turning up out the front 5 mins later and meowing to get back in then running straight through the house and out the back door again and REPEAT x 3.

I seriously think its a deliberate ploy.

my old flatmate's cat used to to that with my bedroom window (I was upstairs)... He'd meow at the window until I let him out,,, then he'd jump accross the garage roof onto the fence, go in the back door and back up to my room. Eventually I just left the window permanently open.

Work is leaving me wanting to cry half the time

ARGH just wish people would pull their finger out and stop making me do itnerview after interview after interview.

Got a wonderful email from one of my team leaders at work today basically having a complete go at me for something I wrote in an email. He didn't bother to read the email all the way through and just assumed I had started it when in fact I was answering a question posed by another agent on the floor.
Wrote a wonderfully long one back to him answering questions he asked me such as "what kind of effect were you attempting to creating by sending out an email like this to the entire floor" and "what kind of help were you expecting other agents to give you in regards to this" and "did you not think to come and find a Tl and discuss this with them.
Made sure he knew full well I didn't ask the question was merely answering and as such was not asking for help from anyone.

Basically told him maybe he should read more than the email title and the sender and maybe read the content of the entire email before assuming what is in it and whom wrote it.

He then avoided me for the next 5hrs and didn't respond to my reply......

Was fucking furious for coping shit for something someone else wrote though if he had bothered to read it he would have seen I was indeed not being antagonising to the floor or anyone unlike him...

Just wanted to get that out sorry

Hopefully should have a new job by next week

I work for an outsourced call centre selling private health insurance. It's ok atmosphere is usually really good, most of my colleagues are awesome people, base rate is fucking shit.

Basically someone asked if anyone else had been having phone issues with drop outs, hang ups, no one on the other end etc etc.

I replied to the person stating yes I have had a few and then she responded saying ok must be something to do with our lines and how busy we are, basically making sure it wasn't an issue with her particular system then.

HAHA Mrj I seriously felt like it I am basically just hanging in there until such time as I have an actually offer on the table which gathering from the reference checks going on at the moment should hopefully be soon otherwise I may kill someone.

Today he acted like nothing had been said nothing had happened and I just couldn't be arsed now with anything there to bother bringing it up, which I do realise would probably be the adult thing to do but I work in a call centre that at times is like a kindergarden/prep/whatever each state wants to call it you get the drift.
