Re: Gripe thread
smart thinking Socio! Its hard not to want to get riled up and go punch the living shit out of someone. However (unfortunately) you can go to jail for doing that, so best to keep cool, say your peace if they need to be put back in their place, and leave it be, and just get the hell out. My last job taught me that. People keep telling me how strong i was to endure what i went through, but i am not strong for it, it affected me a lot, and I have had to work on rebuilding my confidence again. Those people will always be that way, they may change a little, but essentially they will always be arseholes.

meowing outside my room at 3.30 in the morning. not turning up for breakfast. dissapearing out the back door and turning up out the front 5 mins later and meowing to get back in then running straight through the house and out the back door again and REPEAT x 3.
I seriously think its a deliberate ploy.

Fuck this fucking job market shit
Not only is my career an abusive spouse, but now it's making me wait outside while it tries to find out if it can do better than me.
The only word I've had about research jobs is that someone I know is campaigning pretty hard for me (good) at ANOTHER SCHOOL IN OKLA-FUCKING-HOMA (er, less good.) Okay, so it's in a marginally less-shit town, but fuuuuuuuuck.
TBH, I think it's a bit of a concern that I've put myself in a position where I 'have' to choose between a job and having a life of any kind. I think mebbe I'm not right inna head... If it weren't for the spectre of not being able to come back once you leave, I'd ditch this shit in a second and at least try a real job*.
Gah, I wish I knew what to do. Trying to hedge your bets on anything you may ever want to do in the future is very draining (and, I suspect a fool's errand...)
*May not actually be employable.

I dunno how I would go in IT... I kinda figured that the fact I have religiously avoided learning to code anything of any kind may make me not-very-employable. (Writing a script to put my photobucket url on my clipboard excepted )
Reckon I could make it as a tea/photocopying lady in a games office, who does everyone's quaternionic algebra between copy jobs. Prolly pays better than the current gig...

Coding is not IT, that's development. Dont need to code anything. reset passwords and turn on projectors mostly huhuh (kind of joking). I reckon you're the type to pick it up pretty swiftly.retzie wrote:I dunno how I would go in IT...
