Hmmm I tend to disagree with that. If your really hitting good mixes then you can build up a certain momentum and energy that you can't get by just letting the tunes play IMO. Plus I like to hear people blending, layering and crafting different rythms on top of each other. Personally I would get really bored if I was to just play tune after tune without interact with the music.
