Jeans...
The only jeans I can wear are from Target- Stella MaCartney rip offs that they didn't even bring out with her line- I'm ashamed to admit that I now own two pairs and am picking up another pair next week.
I never owned jeans for the simple fact that none of them suited me- then I went to good old k-town and found some filthy skinny blacks... it all kind of spiralled from there

Hawt!!
I paid dearly for getting me some cheap-ass jeans.
The colour has run in them and I look like the acid-wash predator with them on. I thought washing them again would get rid of the spare dye, but no, the pattern is still there.
FUCK!!
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."
gstar are a weird shop with a weird range.
pretty much 99% of all jeans there are spastic (rouched, stained, 86 pockets, or ugly) ^
why on eath cant they just have plain dark jeans with no fucking yellow labels and painted shit on them, last time i bought jeans from them I spent half an hour with a unpicker removing unsighly advertising.

Only buy mens jeans, so much more comfortablegnat wrote:people (yes jai and lou) keep getting rad jeans from g star and everytime i'm in there it's all rouching and bleaching and rouched knees and general wrongness

I went to buy some jeans on Friday night and hardly any of the companies make them in my size anymore. Mossimo used to but have now stopped.
Nudie still make them in my size but they didn't have any left, so I ordered them in.
these aren't the skinny leg ones though, they'd make me look like a walking pencil. They're bootcut mofo's
$215 is more than I wanted to spend though

Did i just read you paid $215 for a pair jeans?
I haven't bought them yet, they're still on order.
They gotta be Size 28, which are ridiculously hard to find
I don't wanna pay $215, but it looks like I have no choice (I refuse to shop at Target)

ask mellogs how many $ worth of sass and bides/carhartts/ g stars she's got hahaha
215 is alright- most are 300-400 bucks now
if they're hot they're worth it considering how much you wear them

wow, what kind of jobs are you guys holding down that gives you so much disposible income?? Are they taking applications??
I can buy a pair of reputables (not Target) for well under $100 and they last me just as long as a $300 pair. It also means I can buy 3 times as many.
Poses the questions: How much is your wardrobe worth???
Mine's about $1000 total (including kicks)
(stop laughing)

Easy $10k i reckon.
Cause unless $300 jeans are laced with titanium, I suspect they wear at the same (or similar) rate as less expensive ones. My jeans last me 3 years, daily wear.breaksRbest wrote:The Mixtress wrote:I can buy a pair of reputables (not Target) for well under $100 and they last me just as long as a $300 pair. how do you know they'll last as long as a $300 pair if you've never owned a $300 pair
Besides, given how fashion changes every 5 minutes, why would you want a pair of jeans to last for 10 years. They'll be outdated within 3 years or less anyways.
$10k SQ??? Farking hell, that's impressive. Next time you're having a "these are going to the op-shop" moment, call me!!!

Maybe less.. i dunno. It's always a lot more than you think though. I remember doing a 'replacement' exercise for insurance once. I was shocked at the value. The Mixtress wrote:Cause unless $300 jeans are laced with titanium, I suspect they wear at the same (or similar) rate as less expensive ones. I probably been on the planet longer than you so have a lot more stuff.
Thanks for trying to make me feel better SQ, but unless you're 10 times older than me, that don't fly
The most expensive item of clothing I ever bought was a $300 suit from Garfunkle with my first executive pay cheque. It died within a year and I was devastated. Still sits in my wardrobe though. Maybe I need a cathartic cleanout to rejuv my closet

imo.
My main wardrobe is upwards of $7k (not including vintage gear)... cheapie things just don't work for me (wierd body shape you see) and I'd rather spend $350 on a pair of Italian wool work pants from Obus than spend $40 on a shitty synthetic pair from Target which look like crap and fall apart after a few wears. Plus I worked in designer retail for far too long to walk away without being tainted by fabric snobbery. You need to look at it as an investment
Funilly enough , jeans are pretty much the only cheapie staples I own apart from my $5 K-mart kung fu shoes.

i personally wouldn't fret the money, there are some things you buy expensive.
as my best bud says - i am too poor to buy cheap shoes.
and she is right! you buy cheap shoes, you can tell and they fall apart quick.
all personal preference of course. Mixxy your style is op-shop and Fi's is street wear/designer. simple really.

It's not my personal preference, I don't really have much choice in the matter. It's a labour of necessity finding cheap clothes that actually look/feel/fit half decent (and quite the fucking challenge, let me tall ya). Given the funds, I'd be an op-shopper no more *dreams*Lizkins wrote: all personal preference of course. Mixxy your style is op-shop and Fi's is street wear/designer. simple really.
