I went through some of Oblivion again about a month ago. Such a fucking brilliant game. Did the Shivering Isles expansion which I hadn't done before.

I borrowed HAWX off a friend last night. Not brilliant, but good fun and very addictive. Also picked up Banjo-Tooie on XBLA. LOVE that game! Bought Assault on Dark Athen last week, but haven't really played much of it yet.

I've just started working for the Australian Distributor for Cyber Snipa products, among other things. I'm new to the gaming side of it...besides the big guns like EB Games, JB Hi-Fi and Game Traders, who else sells this kind of gear? Do you guys buy on-line or through a shop?

I'm such a newb :oops:

Target, Big W, Dick Smith etc and Video/Game Hire places also buy.

I haven't bought games off the net - but then again, I rarely buy off the net - loads of people do though.

You can buy a TV tuner card with USB connection like these:

http://www.citysoftware.com.au/Browse/b ... uner%20usb

I just searched under TV Tuner USB...you should check out some other brands or resellers for a wider choice. Good luck :D

I don't know about receivers, I've never had one before.

Depends on what outputs u got on the laptop, if there is a svideo out u can get a svideo to video rca cable, then u need a 3.5mm to audio rca's (Not sure that's the right name for em) for sound.

will i have resolution issues? my computer is a notebook with a 10inch screen, pretty sure it runs a strange resolution, so would that affect the way i see it on a tv?

you should be able to configure it as a second monitor, and hopefully it would detect the resolution. Haven't used one myself tho, so who knows...

I know there are a few of you here who are good with various types of code.

I've searched all day on the net and can't work out what I'm doing wrong.

Basically I have a tonne of large documents to print. I can't print them all in one go because the printer shit itself when it gets hot.

I want create a simple .bat file that will open word, open a document, run a macro I've made, close word.

The Macro prints 5 copies to an non-defult printer.

The idea is that I can schedule XP to run the bat file once an hour over night, should give the printer about half an hour printing, half an hour cooling and it hopefully wont fuck up.

Here is my bat file

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\windword.exe"
"F:\Threatened Species & Ecosystem\Prioritising Species\NRM Regional Workshops\Burdekin Dry Tropics\Biodiversity Action Plan\DRAFT for REVIEW\NQDT Biodiversity Action Plan_DRAFT 25 May 09 .doc" /mPrintFiveCopiesOn32 /mFileClose
my macro is named 'PrintFiveCopiesOn32'

here is the macro

Code: Select all

Sub PrintFiveCopiesOn32()
'
' PrintFiveCopies Macro
' Macro created 27/05/2009 by David Thomas Phillips
'

    ActivePrinter = "\\BNEFP02\ANN_152.32"

    Application.PrintOut FileName:="", Range:=wdPrintAllDocument, Item:= _
        wdPrintDocumentContent, Copies:=5, Pages:="", PageType:=wdPrintAllPages, _
        ManualDuplexPrint:=False, Collate:=True, Background:=True, PrintToFile:= _
        False, PrintZoomColumn:=0, PrintZoomRow:=0, PrintZoomPaperWidth:=0, _
        PrintZoomPaperHeight:=0

End Sub

The macro works from within word, but not from command prompt.

Word does open from command prompt, but then it just sits there macro-less.

What am I doing wrong?! :(

thanks Hugh, it's alright though I've sorted it!

Even went a step further and made a bat file for setting up the scheduling and another for turning off the PC when everythings done :).

Got thousands of pages to print and this is gonna make it alot easier.

lappy doesn't have an s-video out, otherwise i wouldn't be asking the question,
lappy has hdmi and vga output
tv has s video and rca inputs

can they only be connected through and expensive box?

This might work, most new tv's have hdmi and vga inputs so new laptops are made to suit. Just do a goggle search for hdmi to rca or vga to rca converter/adapter

Fuck Sony. Fuck them hard up their stupid fucking cuntying arses. Could they possibly make the most simple of tasks even more fucking impossible?

For fucks sake, all I want to do is purchase FF7 off their site and play it on my PSP. Easy right? FUCKING NO.

You have to download all these programs that OCCASIONALLY work, then get new updates which are a) not user friendly, and b) aren't even fucking recognized by my PSP. The instructions they offer are as usless as Anne Frank's fucking drumkit. Contact them for help you say? Did I FUCK. There is NOWHERE you can contact them for help, you just end up in an endless loop of links to FAQ pages that don't have anything to do with what I want. I tried their message boards... absolutely no reponse.

Seriously, it's the fucking future, this shit isn't meant to be hard. Fucking cunts.

I updated the firmware on steve's PS3 a few months ago... everything stopped working properly, the media streaming stopped working (every file have "invalid data type" on it :-/ )and now I have to use my server to transcode to a specific IP, which is OK if you know what you're doing but fugging stupid if you don't know how to do it, also chews my server ram and CPU which is cunty if other people in the house are trying to use it.

I'd blame that more on the third party media streaming software you're using rather than the ps3 firmware

I just don't understand why they make everything so complex. They assume that everyone knows what they're doing, and provide no instructions or support to help you. Gays.

Recently i've been playing:

Star Ocean 4 - Really good JRPG. insane amount of stuff to do, but it doesn't get tedious. Also, the game actually makes sense! downside is ridiculously long cut scenes (I clocked one at 57 minutes).

Prototype: Pretty fucking cool. Nice brainless hack n slash game with some cool ideas. Nothing to write home about, but well worth picking up. I don't really like sandbox games, but it doesn't really have too much of a sandbox feel. It's kinda like Spiderman 2 meets Ninja Gaiden.

I also bought Fight Night Round 4 last night, but I haven't really played it yet. Control seems weird compared to the others (i'm a BIG Fight Night fan), but every review i've read says that it feels strange for the first couple of hours, but then feels great. Graphics are unfuckingbelievable. The physics engine is MINDBLOWING. Looking forward to spending some quality time with it.

Also, you can play as Manny Pacquiao which is awesome. I <3 Manny

Essentially, the reason is that sony made a change that was still within the dlna spec.

It's the other software that isn't complying to the spec, or your doing it wrong.

Three questions about my newly installed PC:

1) It doesn't recognise my external drive like the other one did. I have to unplug and re-plug it before it will recognise it in My Computer. How do I make it so?

2) I don't seem to have administrative rights. How do I make it so?

3) Mozilla used to give me little squiggly red lines under misspelled words, but not since I installed it on this machine. How do I make it so?

It is repetetive, however there are loads of different tasks and side missions you can do which mixes it up a lot. It's by no means a masterpiece, but it's good fun.
