Oh, just to clarify why I posted the link to that article... The Age states that the idea behind LVX is to get people to pay a monthly fee to become members.

I had never heard of this type of thing happening in Melbourne before, which is why the name LVX stuck in my head from reading that article.
The Age wrote:"What we're doing is unique, it's different, and we're going out there and targeting an upper-end clientele base," Mr Khier said.
If the Melbourne Beats community is considered to be amongst the upper-echelon of society, then bring it. :)

the girls being promoters is nothing new in town. but the money for membership definitely is! wonder what it gets you?

Documents seen by The Age reveal how LVX recruits young women that it dubs "agent provocateurs" to lure friends and strangers to take up club memberships.

Fuck baroque style, might as well make it Brighton Neo-Georgian revival. How about some futurestyle, Buck Rogers, Jetsons, Captain nemo, Doctor Spock.

Is Colonel Nimrod at the helm? It sounds so.

Pay to be a member? Pass me my loafers and let me choke on my cumberbund while I vomit in my faux Louis XVII armchair adorned with pink diamontes while I inherit aids from a halterneck ho.

However I would like to go to a rave at said venue.

People - seriously, think about it.

You PAY to get into most venues.

And most clubs/society's/memberships (real memberships) do cost money.

As long as it's not double-dipping where you pay an obsene amount to be a 'member' and then pay again just to enter the joint - I fail to see what the fuss is all about.

If you can't stand the concept of the club, there's still benefits for you. As there will be less of these so called "artistocrats" out in your club environment... :D

Happy times for all.

Hey man,

I'm not having a 'tiff', I'm all up for new ideas and I think ur idea rocks. I'm not bagging ur club, I'm just wondering in what way does your club 'appeal to the intelligent'?

It's a genuine question. I'm interested?

Thanks

Hey peeps. Been reading the last 20 or so posts.......... first overall about the club concept where people pay to be members........ if you dont know its been happening around overseas for like 10 years or more..... do alot of you know anything about clubs..... any bad comments wont do any harm....... to me really its nothing.

Anyways to be honest- there is only 5 people promoting at the moment for these clubs. 3 dudes and 2 chicks so. the comment on luring young woman as agent provocateaurs is outta the question----- dont you think???

People to be honest....... people can make their own opinions. but really i hate it when people make opinions and they dont know jack shit about it what they are on about........ All smiles people

People who pay a for memberships get all the benefits, for example free VIP entry etc etc plus way more.......

Anywhos........ have a good one people. Cheers. :)

Then explain it to us before we make judgement. No use in comin in and trying to generate hype for something that is flakey at best. It's a bar, not a TV show.

DUBS

that made me lol. i'm simply stating my mind. if you have a problem with people doing that on a public forum, then you can suck my nuts.

your club looks shit, the background of it's owner is dodgy and you can't even keep the website up.

gee gosh we're a friendly and welcoming bunch.

might not agree with the corporate club style setup but the digital images of those places looked wicked, and while i prob won't go there i think its good dubs has come on here, offered us guest lists and info about whats going on.

if i were in dub's shoes why would i want to promote or do stuff with the MB crew after the reception above?

His attitude has been fine, but when he singles me out to turn it personal, its on.

edit: Oh fuck it, look, I'm just speaking my mind here. I'm not a friendly person so there's no point pretending I am. I bite my tongue about so much shit that goes down on this forum and between its people but when I speak my mind fucking once, I'm pulled up on it.

maybe offered us the memberships - bit no pricing or structure.
also no info about the club except its exotic theme.

the 'intelligent' comment wasn't backed up with any real details and that has caused the nasayer attitude I reckon. it combination with reported by The Age which were dismissed as Mecka being the devils advocate.

Agreed normally wer're warm and friendly and like to be trusting but maybe Dubs hasn't gvien us a reason to have faith.

I'm not swayed by the interior of a club so much as what it has to offer. There's bound to be a bunch of suits isck of cookie or where ever they hang out who will jump at this. So it just seems liek a crass memebrship drive with no fine print to check over.

He has said in about 5 posts that he will get back to us with details when he has them.

I am not down with the club either, and i think someone of the background shit is funny as hell, but there is a difference between banter and outright rudeness.

Certainly sounds interesting, I'm tipping a strict no camera policy though?

I'm somewhat new to 'the club' scene, honestly I think I'm too shallow to get into it! I'm more into somewhere that you could sneak out for a joint and be golden.

Will there be a line? Will there be some form of tetris/frogger available for people waiting in line?

And most importantly, exactly what styles of breaks/dnb are you going to play :)
