wave recording software for mac

hey all....


been trying to find some wav recording software for me new mac..being a new mac user though ive got no idea on whats out there.

any suggestions?

for free - Audacity. works well on all platforms.

for future reference, versiontracker.com is a pretty good place to search for mac software

garage band should come with your mac and can record fine

yer i dont mind this 1 i got now...1 problem im having though is it wont let convert to mp3.i also tried through i tunes but no luck there either

yer i had peak.but it was being an arse and wouldnt detect my soundcards inputs.even though the inputs were found by the mac itself.

itunes can convert to mp3
open track in itunes
make sure your CD ripping setting in prefernces are set to mp3
set the quality bitrate etc
right click or ctrl click on wav or aif you want to make mp3 and there in contextual menu should be convert to mp3

I have Wave burner that comes with Logic, that's pretty good. I've also read that it can do basic mastering but I haven't spent a lot of time on it.
