 we've been looking all over... from elwood, elsternwick, caulfield etc in the south to armadale, malvern, hawthorn, camberwell etc in the east, to fitzroy, brunswick, northcote etc in the north. basically anywhere up to 25 mins from the city :P

found a great place in glen iris (a little further out than we wanted) in feb but we missed out on it. :(

current place we're lookin at is fitzroy... such a nice place. :D

 yeah - that's what the 'etc' means :P

there are probably 10 suburbs in each direction that we're looking at, but i wasn't going to list all 30 ;)

the current place we're living in is in windsor, and that's the one we'd be renting out ;)

Nice area but there are some dodgy characters on that side. But then again there are dodgy peeps everywhere.

So glad I is not house hunting anymore, freggin sucks bulls. I hate to start when ready to buy a place!

Good luck Friday with the hunting!

See we'd been pretty damn lucky while we were living in the flat we had never been broken into *knock on wood* because there was always someone home, plus it helped having a nosey neighbour
However since moving I'm not going to take my chance and was straight to getting me some contents insurance!

so far, applied for a place (very first place applied for) and we are second in line if the other peeps bail. the agent said there was absolutely nothing wrong with out application, and would love to have us as tenants.

went and checked out a place yesterday and we are being pushed into getting it by the agent. she even offered to put in wardrobes for us to take it. freakin me out a bit with how pushy she is. not taking it though.

seem to be doing okay this time. what gives? must be time of year and offering two months rent. but this is crazy.

too used to rejection for places i think :?

for SQ. well aware.

still, i don't see how this is different to elsewhere. Melbourne is notorious for break-ins and car theft

Our place hasn't been broken into.

:knock on wood:

And yeah I think it's the same for all inner city suburbs.
Last time I saw the figures south melbourne and richmond were the worst for break ins.

I've lived in Flemington and we're now in Ascot Vale and i've never had any problems with my house car or anything and i would say they're both worse suburbs than Kensington.

And i grew up in Hawthorn, which is supposedly and 'good' neighbourhood, we had a dog and our house was robbed and my car broken into twice.

Any suburb can have its problems. I wouldnt' worry about Kensington Liz.
