Calling all MPC masters!

Post by Direkt »

We're thinking of organising an MPC battle sometime in the next couple of weeks, but are just gauging interest levels at present...

There will be small prizes on offer (maybe an Akai MPD controller etc) - as well as the satisfaction of beating well known Aussie producers/MPC users.

All interested parties please express interest to me via PM.

Entry will be free.

Dont know the idea of a prize as an MPD makes much sense, if you are an MPC master, why would you need an MPD?
Anyway, Id be keen to watch this event for sure, make sure you film it all too with above user camera angles.

Some peeps don't like the way the MIDI implements off the MPC.

MPD just plugs in via USB, no need for MIDI leads.

MPD has multiple rotaries, faders and transport buttons.

It's free, hell - sell it if you want!

BUT - the main thing.... you get the title of MPC master, and it don't cost you shit to enter.

DMC comps always give away headphones and mixers. You'd think some one winning a DMC compe would have at least one, if not both these items.

How do you plan on judging it?

What are the rules? (like all one shots or something?)

I heard there was one of these the other night at Laundry. Don't think it was like a competition with prizes though.

That's about all I know. Anyone go?

It's an Akai promotion, so no.

But - doesn't look like it's going ahead.

Thanks to those that expressed interest though.
