yeah it looks single but I didn't bother with the base groups in there as it would have complicated it plus, in nature it spilt into two single strands once some DNA Helicase is introduced so it just looks single but its double /end nerd rant! :D

got my new tattoo! i love it and....kind of feel overwhelmed by it.

Question - do you guys feel like - did i get what was in my head? does it feel strange to see this thing on your body now?

i dunno, i feel a loss of my lizard (as its now covered and replaced). i have a new little lizard on this new tattoo, but he is not as prominent.

i dunno i am being silly or not having these feelings

worked out why i was feeling up in the air about this, the top part of the bamboo i got done is not how i wanted it (took ages for me to realise what wasn't quite right about it), and the lizard is too small (which he did say he would make bigger if i wasn't happy).

feel better now that i worked that out, and both things should be easy fixed!

maybe u should just leave it for a bit liz...

On the whole a fairly uninteresting article

That said though, what I do find interesting is the recent massive surge in the popularity of the tattoo. I guess like any other fashion or subculture, it inevitably becomes a caricature of itself

Imo in 15-20 years time there will be an entire generation of people that look like absolute tools because on a whim they decided to get some flourish script on their neck or a heart and wings across their chest. Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but just quietly I think there'll be alot of collective regret

Like anything else that goes mainstream, eventually those that are truly passionate and doing it for the right reasons will continue to do so and reap the rewards

On the subject of old tattoos, I guess I am a walking contradiction, as I have one that I got when I was 16 and put fuck all thought into. It's shithouse. All I can say is that I'm glad it's on a part of my body that isn't prominently visible. The guy that does my tattoos is comfortable about covering it up, but tbh I think I'll get it lasered off so that he has 'virgin skin' to work with that won't compromise the amazing standard he adheres to. Very costly and painful process though

Agreed. I know a number of people that are really into their's and that is great but I agree with your comment.

You see the 20 year old guys with tattos on thier necks and hands, probably not going to be the best idea when they are 30 and realise they want an office job or something. The 20 year old girls with nice perky boobs and tattos on their chects will probably not think they are that cool in 15 years time when things head south.

Collective regret for sure, but for their sake i hope I'm wrong.

So the wings that I am getting on my chest made with the script of "arms wide open" may not be a good idea?

nah its all good now, just got overwhelmed by it. now i love it. sooo many fricken changes in my life of late, i was feeling a bit snowed under, and this was on top of all that and i freaked a bit. i calm now, yes yes

interestingly on the youngsters and tattoos, i have had to talk my bro out of getting one because he keeps changing his mind. I thought about what i wanted for 4 years, and where i wanted it. i think that is necessary, because if you can think about the one thing for a long time then you will less likely hate it (ignore above freaking out posts though, that was for a different reason).

i just think they all jump in on the fad a bit too quick. And so young! Who the fuck knows what you will be doing in 10 years time.

so instead of ditching my amazing life and moving to indonesia and starting up a bar/tattoo shop,
or buying a place off the plan, or quitting my job and becoming a hustler of many other things (all feasilbe options at the moment)

i might go and get my left thigh inked by Jason Jacenko this summer.
here's his artist page on Fb.

yup, thats him.

dunno how booked he is but he's been to my house for burritos before ;)

dunno how big, hes designing it, but it will be cute character, with down arrows, stars, and flowers, to tie all my other ones in together, it will also be the only one with colour apart from my lower back. same colours.

a mate was supposed to do a new one last weekend, meeting time come and went, called and he was still out drinking from the night before, so got pissed off and got a different mate to sort it, just went down and she's not turned up to work and phones switched off! Beginning to think someone dont want me to get it

Re: Tattoos

moral of the story is - fuck mates when it comes to tattoos, pay a professional ;)

my first was done in a warehouse by a mate, took fucking hours, 10,000 bongs, and i covered it last year cos it had faded so bad. the rest, all professional jobs.

Re: Tattoos

Posted: Fri Oct 22, 2010 1:20 pm
by FRAKSHA...
nah they are professionals, work in reputable places etc and they've done all my other stuff, but supose because we're mates, they feel they can take the odd liberty here and there...tattoo's are so exspensive i cant really afford to not go to mates really. Tho i would really like something from Sam Rulz and Green Lotus, her stuffs dope!

Re: Tattoos

thats what i meant though, even mates who are professionals dont take it as seriously, probably cos they arent being paid as much! mine was a prof too, but it wasnt done in a shop, hence the outcome.
