Two Tribes BALI ?!?!
Just what Bali needs ... more drugs into the country !
pretty good idea tho, support the now struggling bali tourism industy !
Utilising one of the Worlds finest event sites, the GWK cultural Park, ‘Two Tribes’ Bali will provide Asia with a first hand look as to why the brand has continued to be so popular and successful over the past eight years. We feel that the time is now right to share our global ambition with Bali, a country that holds loving respect and such high regard in the hearts of many Australians.
Combining forces with I Made Wiranatha (Air Paradise group) and local event organiser Justin Alexander (Double six nightclub) the foundations are set for a truly historic event that we plan to hold on a bi annual basis. The electronic dance craze which has influenced the youth of Indonesia over the past decade or so is set to reach new heights, as the biggest dance party the Island has seen is set to take place on Thursday 11th August 2005.
Part concert, part carnival, part festival; Two Tribes will present a huge line up of international big name DJs, along with a massive sound and visual production and spectacular performance arts. This will take place across multiple stages and combined will provide an endless variety of the finest music from right across the spectrum of electronic music genres. We feel the magical island of Bali itself steeped in music traditions is an ideal platform on which to stage this ground breaking musical event.

I must admit I looked at the add this week for Two Tribes in Bali and immediately thought of mashed people and Schapelle Corby in that sequence. Just doesnt work, so lucky the Bintang is cheap.
I think the Bali tourism slump is largely over isnt it? ... at least the Schapelle Corby case as not hurt tourism figures. Still loads of Aussies going but now they padlock zip and pocket on their bag and get them gladwrapped at the airport.

As in you would consider it at another time???
(edit - I misread that as you would take drugs INTO bali... not "take" drugs)

while we're talking drugs and travel here is an interesting piece i read on skrufff...
Schapelle Supporter Starts Bali Boycott
A travel agent in Tasmania Australia has announced he'll no longer sell tickets to fly to Bali if Schapelle Corby is convicted of smuggling pot by Indonesian authorities.
The 27 year old beauty student could still be executed by firing squad if found guilty, though most media commentators are predicting she'll soon be sentenced to life in jail, despite the dubiousness of the case against her.
Speaking to wire service AP, Tony Foster, who runs Harvey World Travel and is also a local mayor, insisted he's making a personal statement, however, rather than trying to mobilise a boycott.
"A lot of the time when people come in they are looking at two or three different destinations. If they are still interested (in Bali), I will say there's a travel agent around the corner that can help you," he said. "It is an individual thing for me. Mind you, a lot of people feel the same way I do. I am just in a position where I can voice my personal protest," he explained.
Meanwhile in the United Arab Emirates, British mum Tracey Wilkinson was released on bail after spending two months in a hellhole Dubai jail on ridiculous drugs charges and warned tourists and travellers 'Don't come to this country'. Ms Wilkinson tested positive for codeine as she prepared to leave the Gulf state after a holiday, and despite explaining she'd taken the widely available medicine in Britain was chucked into jail straight from the airport.
"It's horrendous how they treat people here. You're guilty until proved innocent. What chance do you stand? I am innocent," the 44 year old mother told the Daily Mirror. "I am just frustrated. I haven't got a clue what's going on. They (UAE authorities) don't tell you anything. Don't come to this country," she urged.
Ms Wilkinson became infested with head lice and seriously ill with dysentery during her detention and continues to face 4 years in jail if found guilty. Codeine is present in over-the-counter remedies such as Nurofen Plus in the UK, meaning anyone who's taken so much as a headache pill in the last month (or smoked a joint!) should avoid UAE at all costs.
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/schapelle ('Bashir gets 2 years for 'masterminding the 2003 Bali bombings.....killing close to 200 people- Shapelle gets life in prison for apparently smuggling drugs! There is something very screwed up here!!! . . .')
