Still?? GK... what's going on?? You get a shuffle-on with the job hunting, missy! Economy is slowing down and jobs will be harder to get in the not-too-distant :)

Dude getting offed with a machine gun 5 minutes from my house on Sunday morning :angry7:

You know your neighbourhood is dodgy when you are slightly relieved to hear it was a targeted "gangland style execution" (ie rather than random civilian carnage).

From the Daily Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ution.html

A man shot dead outside a nightclub as he talked to friends was the target of a gangster-style 'execution'

A man shot dead outside a nightclub as he talked to friends was the target of a gangster-style 'execution'.

The 35-year-old was hit at least three times in the head and neck at close range by a man who calmly produced a machine gun from the boot of his car outside Club Red in Limehouse. Club staff and medics tried to save the man's life but he was pronounced dead at the scene in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police forensic officers investigating the scene of the shooting

Uzi machine gun: A machine gun was used in a gangster-style execution outside a nightclub

Witnesses said the gunman had pulled up in a car near a bus stop on Butcher Row, London.
One said: 'I saw this guy go to the back of his car, open up his boot and pull out a machine gun. 'Then he went over and shot this other man. It was terrifying, like something from a gangster film.'

A barman at Club Red, who asked not to be named, said: 'My colleague came running past me with two first aid cases saying there had been three shots fired outside. 'By the time I got there I saw someone lying on the floor and he was quickly covered up in a blanket. There was blood everywhere. 'The doormen had already tried to save his life but it was clear he was badly wounded.'

The shooting caused panic among the 400 people in the club, leading to outbreaks of fighting as staff sealed exits and shut everyone in. One clubber said a brawl broke out and a glass table in the VIP area was smashed. Both the gunman and the victim were black and the murder inquiry is being handled by Operation Trident.

Police were today questioning a man in his twenties after he was arrested when he voluntarily attended a south London police station over the shooting. Police still do not know the identity of the victim but believe he came from west London.

The Daily Mail was probably being a bit sensationlistic. I highly doubt that it was a proper machine gun, which would surely be a bit unwieldy to fire unless you were prone? It's not like he rocked up to the nightclub with a .50 cal mounted to the back of a ute and vaporised the place. Even if the nasty man were using a submachine gun (which I think the Uzi technically is, rather than a machine gun) or an assault rifle with fully automatic capabilities, the fact only 3 shots were heard does not sound like he was using it in full-auto mode. And he did turn himself in to the police.

Still, some guy has been shot and killed. I will definitely be taking taxis home from work now on, instead of walking, if I finish after dark...

My grandad (86) had a bad fall last week and is in hospital getting a hip replacement and pins in his pelvis :(

in my experience when shit like that happens it's the beggining of the end. well, it was for my other grandparents :? sux

Hmmm I think birth is the beginning of the end really...

My last remaining grandmother had a bad fall a few years ago, but is still going strong, though she does have a tendency to 'invest' her money in international lotteries when left unattended...

It's weird, I felt strangely relieved rather than sad when my nan passed. I wasn't really that sad at all, even though I had a little sob at times.... then, I kind felt guilty for not being sad enough :?

I still think about her all the time though.

Story of my god damn life... :banghead:
i swear you have the worst luck elly. if you were back in Melb i'd hook you up with one of my single mates 8)

hey it could of been worse...hows this for a story -

Rachel and I set up two good mates...the guy is my mate the lady is a friend of a friend of Rachels.

So we organise dinner at my house for three couples - Us, Rachy's mates and the two setter upee's...

My mate rocks up first. Nervous etc etc. So i get him a beer or two. Now the other couple and the girl are running late. Shes a black belt karate champion , 6ft tall blode bombshell and has just finished training so by the time they arrive me and my mate are halfway through his bottle of red plus a couple of homebrews and had a few spliffs on the sly.

Entree goes well. Food, beer, wine conversation.

Main goes well too...more food, more beer and by now my mates fairly pissed - but they seem like they are getting along good..

So after main course but before desert he says i'll just sit on this comfy couch over here. I swear it was only 2mins i left him there but i come back from an after dinnner ciggie and there he is...asleep and passed out on the couch IN THE KITCHEN SNORING (yea it a big kitchen) where we are cooking and eating and SETTING HIM UP - dead alseep....

So we all had a bit of a laugh, i slap him on the face a few times but get no response.

So we have desert and the other 3 people leave. He's still asleep on the same couch.

Stuff legends are made of.

Names kept to protect the innocent. Biggups mate you know we love ya ;)

And do you want to know the absolute twisted twist? The girl as well as being a black belt is a Drug and Alcohol counciller....hhahahahahahahahahahaha :smt005

Legend story Fents.

I remember having a big weekend with a mate from work, showing him round the drum'n'bass world in Melbounre. Get to Sunday arvo and I was supposed to be meeting a yong lady but didn't want to send this guy home back to Melton in such a state to deal with his straight housemates so we bowl up to this bar in Northcote and have a few drinks with this girl.
Alls going well, adn we have champers, strawberries and nangers back at my place, so we head home.
Cut to to the chase.... In the morning my mate who crashed on the couch tells me he couldn't sleep all night and could hear nangers going off evey ten minutes. I laughed and told him I couldn't sleep either but I couldn't invite him in to my room in case she woke up and thought somethign dodgywas going on.
