Growing up in Bristol, Xample has always been surrounded by the sounds of Drum & Bass. After relocating to Liverpool, Xample decided he wanted to try his hand at producing and before too long he had notched up releases on labels such as hard Leader, Penny Black and L plates.
In 2005, Xample moved back to Bristol and continued to work hard shaping his sound, soon attracting interest from Andy C, which led to a string of 12s on Frequency, before his first track on RAM Records, 'Heaven and Hell', for the well-received Dimensions EP, and also on Andy C's Nightlife 3 mix CD.
His first single, 'Lowdown/The Latter' was released in 2007 to heavy dancefloor exposure and great reviews, followed by 'Get Out Clause/Infamous' and 'Contra/Keep Their Heads Ringin' proving how Xample has blossomed into a first class producer, with his own unique sound and will shortly follow his label mates Chase & Status and Subfocus with working on his debut album with fellow RAM producer, Lomax.
LOMAX (UK)
Nick Hill, aka Lomax, has always had a very musical background. A piano player, from a very young age and with a degree in music behind him, he was first introduced to the sounds of drum & bass by LTJ Bukem and John B back in 1997 and began producing in 2000. As the original member of cult drum & bass collective HoldTight, Nick had several releases on labels such as Industry, Renegade and React just to name a few. Nick has been extremely busy on the production front since 2003. Following HoldTight's album release, Lomax spread his wings and went solo, pursuing a more minimal sound. Having released on Critical, Bingo, Integral and Ram Records (with Xample), Lomax signed exclusively to Ram Records in 2008 and has since gone to number 1 in the dnb charts with both his releases including the huge 'Faith Massive EP'. With support and interest from many of the big players in Drum & Bass and Radio 1 DJs, big things are lined up with several forthcoming releases including an album project with Xample.
