cider's for chumps! and people who can't handle beer..

Apple cider is good... Not pear (or part pear/part apple). Agree with Unsoundbwoy though. They each have their benefits. Cider doesn't bloat as much.

i think it ends up a different tdrunk when cider.
also, you can say "my cider senses are tingling!"
and it sounds like spider. like spiderman, cos he is cool

gone back to mercury dry. cheap and i'm a bit drunk so i don't care anymore!

I like cider, it is easy to drink, too easy infact!

Sunny afternoon, fish & chip and cider on the beach = good option!

I'm a big fan of Dickens Cider

its really easy to make your own cider at home...

go to supermarket and get 20L's of preservative free apple juice, throw it all in a fermenter (after you have cleaned and sterilsed it) (you will have to buy one from a brew shop, a 20L plastic "pail" type bucket would do as well), add a packet of yeast (beer yeast or champagne yeast, not bakers yeast), let it ferment for 14 days, bottle it in 750ml bottles and add a teaspoon of normal suguar to each botlles and then 2 weeks after that you have a delicious cider.

can also use a mix of apple/pear juice....80% and 20% works well.

How do you sterilize the bucket, just boiling water?
You would have to sterilize the bottles too yeah?

I need to try some different ciders I think... only really tried strongbow, mercury, bulmers, magners (they are different btw) & monteiths

It is to easy to do. Tastes better than brought cider too (imo)

Yes you will have to sterilise the bottles to. Go to a supermarket and buy a tub of NO NAME UNSCENTED napisan, rinse bottles and soak them in this then just rinse with water and let them dry. Childs play Al.

Now to find non preservative apple juice, wonder what cloudy apple juice would be like...
And i could put all kinds of stuff in there too couldn't I, like whole mangos, I'd just have to strain it on the way out?

mangos would get left behind when you rack into the bottles i imagine

5 seeds is no good

magners or bulmers are not bad.

monteiths is good.

pear is a bit to sweet

it is probably the only source of sugar in my diet

but i dont normally like sweet things, don't know why cider is different.

there are a few places in bris u can get bulmers on tap.

5 seeds is. we are in bed with tooheys i think.

and bulmers is in bottles and if people want a good cider, they will buy it, whereas if they just want cider over beer, they will buy 5 seeds pot/pint/jug which is cheaper.
