Last order I received was placed on 27/11.

Got 3 separate orders on the way, 1 I placed yesterday which fingers crossed will come as normal.

Look i can understand people ordering from over seas as i used to do this because local record shops often wont order obscure stuff and hard to get things. Record shops are great though for out of print or old rarities that get overlooked.
But really its 2010, its obvious the benifits of playing lossess digital music when you hear it along side a record press, besides it won't deteriorate over time...
Anyone serious about sound would know this.
Don't get me wrong i do buy vinyl if i really need something but it will only get one play and thats to record to a wav/aiff format
Record shop days are numbered unless they provide a unique service or are super reliable
But for me vinyl is just a novelty item now that i will enjoy playing in my older age when the frequencies are not so crisp anymore
But whatever floats ya boat i guess

Local record stores can't really compete... 3 or 4 times the price... sometimes more... plus they don't really stock anything I buy...

But big up Northside, got some absolute gems there in the second hand bins! hehe

Hahaha this coming from someone who has one of the biggest record collections I've seen. A few years ago I never would have imagined you say this

Back on topic, I've got a cd coming from the Uk, shipped on the 8th, still no sign. Just gotta cross your fingers.

anyone serious about sound would know that it 100% depends on the quality of the vinyl mastering vs. the quality of the digital mastering.

Yeah for sure, but ya always going to loose some clarity of sound in the pressing and its obvious when you play the original recording along side the plate. Also after several plays the vinyl will start to loose top end so you can barely hear much over 10,000Hz pretty soon.

Yeah, but you can hear the 1's and 0's on a CD, and the laser makes a sound when it hit's the pits on the surface of the disc.

Yeah thats the theory, still better sound than vinyl and more fun to play...

Nar bass is boring womp without dynamic treble, but anyway mrj ya right this debate has been done way to much and really the debate is dated...
Just trying to save some heads some money vs sonic goodness i guess like i took convicing a few years back

and yes wax museum i try n support my local but gone are the days they stock what im after.

I've got a few orders thursday and friday and a big one today, no problems for me

orders from redeye and chemical. Shipped late nov and dec 4th. Was starting to worry. But both arrived yesterday.

it's sad but it's totally unviable to buy locally anymore.
the distro companies haven't changed their prices to reflect the strong Aussie dollar, so why would we be stupid to continue to pay high prices.
to be honest, i've seen the prices they charge.. most independent stores would be better off buying in bulk from Chemical or somewhere like that
i've even been in contact with people at inertia expressing my dsgust that i cant support my local business, and they did drop their price by a little, but it's still not enough.
