That is fucked up, and only means more police pressure and focus on these events in the future.

it's true that mb.c isn't a great measure of how a party will go; not everyone who goes out reads this forum, and not everyone on here (not by a long shot) goes out regularly. i've been to rammed 500+ parties where the only posts on here were the promoter bumping it and maybe one other person, and i've been to (ok, run) parties with two or three pages on the mbc thread where less than 100 people showed up.

of course i'm not helping that ratio any, but hey.

The party was promoted on here, big fucking deal!!! It was also promoted on facebook with tonnes of crew invited. The place was packed out and as far I was concerned going well, but throwing drinks at the cops with the contents mainly landing on the equipment was def not cool. The reason it got shut down was because of heaps noise complaints, it was pretty much in a residential area and sound does travel...

do you think the 'yo' bit had anyting to do with police presence and complaints?

I think it was going really well. Couldn't get over how packed it was either.

Me and two other friends bailed out the minute the chanting "fuck the police" started, we figured it wasn't gonna end well with that kind of chanting.
The throwing of the drinks was also something else, wtf is up with people now days?

They were carrying on a bit outside, some girl in stiletto heels was waiting for cars to drive past her then chucking her bag of goon over the top of the cars to land on their bonnets then running up and grabbing it off. She did however stop once I yelled at her. Others just running around like fucking twats but you can't control kids especially kids who are blind rotten drunk.

It is a shame that it got shut down, however it was loud as all fuck and bass being omni-directional it was probably heard for fucking miles around in all directions.

I had fun while it lasted and still managed to get a decent nights sleep in due to getting home at like 2am.

I guess the old illegal warehouse party is always going to be a gamble. Promote too little and it doesn't exist, promotre too much and everyone knows. But it really only takes one dickhead to get a hold of the info for it to go downhill. Dickheads know many other dickheads, and then they'll tell their dickhead mates, and then bam, party over.

Whilst I wasn't at this party it does sound like it was not in a particularly subtle location, but again, too hard to find and no one will find it.

It's a double edged sword, and it always will be. Sometimes you just gotta put it on and pray.

if you're going to throw a bass party in a residential area then you're bound to get shutdown huhu.
