Sweet, just found out about and then proceeded to buy tickets to see Pete Rock on New Years Day at the Laundry, should be a good way to see in he new year, seems like a tiny venue for someone who is a big name in hip hop and not been to Australia before

Yep, odd venue indeed. Would have been nice to have been outside listening to some Pete Rock beats on NYD.

50$ for the tiny Laundry...That's a bit excessive I reckon.

Not really. Smaller venue = less people. Gotta pull the money in somehow. Personally I'd rather a smaller, more intimate show, if it wasn't going to be packed to the rafters, inside on a possibly hot day (which it might very well be).

2 things.
1> small venue and limited tickets = better experience ? does it not? after 7 years running gigs at the espy we're pretty stoked to be doing bigger acts in the smaller room

2> Ticket price is $45 + bf nationally, it was set by the tour promoter illusive and as pointed out is the only way to actually break even on this show anyway.

I think that anyone that came through Laundry to see, Boogie Blind, Lunice, Dj Revolution, Lord Finesse, One Be Lo, Grand Wizard Theodore, 360, Teddy Music or anyone else seemed to have a good night!

Also as the NYD show is now sold out we've just announced a second show on Wed Jan 4th also at laundry. Tickets at http://www.oztix.com.au

thanks
