Yes, the Melbourne breaks down was a great night out. My first ever gig in a real club, I was wedged between two of Melbs biggest acts, (almost shit myself) and I have fond memories. This is alot different though, and on a much larger scale, as stated.shepherd wrote:i think this is dope but it's not the first time it's been done ... but this is a much larger scale than the melbourne breaks down show (good night - pissed )great_magnet wrote:
This has been a long time coming...
bring one easter. bring on beers.
Here's a rundown of some of the organisers agreements, at a meeting the other night, and on the phone, email over the last few weeks.
Anyone with anything to do with Melb breaks will be pleased...
All the dj's involved will be playing at least 45 - 1hr sets. Maybe more, we'll see how we go. We don't want to rush it.
No hierachy is one of our main goals, with every DJ on the bill of equal importance.
Another integral goal is to get recognition for the talented and up and coming. Something that can be often overlooked these days if one is not alligned with major promotional groups.
No-one is going to make money on this, with all profits going back into making next years party bigger and better.
Letting the rest of Australia know what a rocking breaks community Melbourne has.
Most importantly - It's all done for the love of it, and for the betterment of the scene. Nothing more, nothing less.
We hope you will come along and enjoy.
Anyone who wants to help out with promotion in any way, or come on board as a sponsor, please get in touch with me on the following address..

Thanks,
Evil.

Reads like a mission statement, Evil
Seriously though, that sounds like a great approach.
How about some tees, with Melbourne Breaks on the front and "MASSIVE" on the back.
Or ones that are linked to the night (i.e melbourne breaks unite), you could sell them at a small mark up and use the funds for next years party.

maybe not use UNITE on the shirt and just MELBOURNE BREAKS so it'll last forever and ever and ever and every posse and crews out there can wear it till the day they die.
i can sell em in dmc
i think its got more impact without UNITE .. a solid MELBOURNE BREAKS is a force to be reckoned with.
my 2 cents
now im short 2 cents for a coopers.

Maybe we can do something along those lines when we finish promo for the Melb breaks unite party, but until then the t-shirts will definately have 'unite' on them, as that's the whole point of the night - uniting Melb's breaks crews.
I'll wear mine until it rots off.
Ob1 - I thought we were going to have a full frontal of you on the back of the t-shirt, patting a donkey, with a horny look in your eyes?
I have another idea - Melb breaks unite underpants. Think about it. We can save a bit of cash on material by making them crotchless.
How bout it?
